I dropped off some books last Saturday at HSVExpo in Huntsville Alabama. When should I receive an acknowledgment email from CBCS starting them on my dashboard?

No idea about drop offs, but I just mailed some books in and got an email with the following in a few days....

We are happy to notify you that your CBCS submission 20-266xxxx has been received by the CBCS Receiving Department and is now being held in our safe, waiting to enter the grading process.

Once your submission reaches the grading room, you will be notified by email. Subsequent email updates will be sent to you as your submission moves through the certification, encapsulation, and shipping processes.

It was a one trick pony show but always hilarious. GAC private msg quote post Address this user
@Cardzguy if your books included Pressing it will be a while before it appears on your dashboard.

They are including pressing, but I was hoping I would get an email that it was received.

It's usually about a week or so after the convention that it pops up in your dashboard.

Show books usually take a few days and you should see something shortly. I am thinking early next week at the latest.

Approaching 3 weeks and still no acknowledgment email. I contacted the people that collected the books on behalf of CBCS at the show and they have been trying to find out for over a week and they don't know what happened to them yet.

I’m only asking this because this sounds like my first submission. Did you happen to include pressed and non pressed books on the same invoice? A few years back I never did get a received email so I did the customer service dance. It turned out between myself and the rep we combined pressed and non pressed books together. When I got ahold of someone they pointed out my mistake and hadn’t split the invoice or the bills yet.

Not sure why pressing makes a difference since they moved to the same building, but on my july 17th submission I recieved 2 emails. One with and one without pressing.

Hopefully whatever the issue is, it is minor.

@HeinzDad CBCS now allows pressing and non-pressing books on the same invoice. No need to split them anymore but the whole order will wait until all books are done.

@Bronte Pressing shouldn’t matter. Pressing orders should be received normally but their status won’t move from Received until they enter grading.

I don’t know if this is the issue here but in previous years we would be in the middle of convention season around this time and convention submissions could take a long time to be officially received. I think one of my SDCC submissions took like a month. That said, as far as the turnaround is concerned, it is calculated from the Wednesday after the convention ends, even if they don’t appear on your dashboard until weeks later.

I know that they are swamped and that my books aren't AF15, but they are all I have. Clone Wars 1, UF1, etc. I know I won't get them back til spring. I just want an email saying.."Hi, we have received your books"

Ok, got some info. Since I dropped off at the show, the email went to the facilitator, not me. He forwarded me the email with the order number, but I don't have access to see it or add to my dashboard. Any suggestions?

@Cardzguy
Unless the facilitator gives you access to his account, which I wouldn't if I were him, you are going to have to just sit tight.

Being that it involves pressing , you might want to find a non stressful hobby...

Just found out my order has been graded and is being prepared for return shipment. They did NOT press the books as I paid for and is marked on the receipt. Now I have to fight for a refund and see which books to crack open and repeat process.

Wow, I think we went almost two weeks without a complaint about CBCS's lack of service. I haven't gotten any books graded in quite some time. How do you know they weren't pressed? I certainly hope they take of it before they send you back your books but that may take another half year or so.

I got the notice that they were preparing to ship and I knew the 2 1/2 months was too quick. I called customer service and asked if they pressed them. They said the order didn't say pressing. I sent them my copy of the order and was told they don't see it on their copy, which is bull. I sent my payment receipt, showing I paid for pressing. I asked them to break the slabs, press and regrade, they said no.

I am trying to get a refund now. It was a show submission, so I am communicating with the person that collected the books. Right now I just want my books and money back so I can determine which books are getting cracked open and start process again

CBCS customer service department gets another WIN for CBCS. Their corporate offices must be proud of how they're able to stand their ground and not give in to their customer's concerns.
