I've been meaning to send my books to the Oakville office for a while now (from Vancouver) so I don't have to deal with the bogus Fedex customs etc. Also I noticed on the submission form it costs $70 to ship up to 40 books by Fedex to BC. That's in Canadian funds correct? Much more reasonable than CGC. Been waiting to see if the current lockdown situation will get better any time soon, but it doesn't look like it. Should we be sending books to the Oakville office right now and are there even people there? I don't want my books to be sitting in limbo. What should Canadians do? |

@Pedigree Man...I sure wish a CBCS official would chime in on CBCS Canada operations!!! I had an e-mail from Steve Paulus (CBCS Canada) about a week or two ago saying that even during the current lockdown in Ontario that the Oakville location is still operating. Now..with that said....they received one order of mine on March 10th...so 6 weeks ago at this point and although our orders don't change to processing until they arrive in Dallas I would have thought 6 weeks would be enough (can't remember when my April order arrived in Oakville - need to check the tracking again!) Also an order completed and entered ShipToCanada for me on March 12th..so also 6 weeks...hope it arrives soon but I'm not holding my breath. Hellloooooooo....Bueller....Bueller???? CBCS Canada/US.....can anyone tell us how frequently books are sent from CBCS Canada to Dallas and from Dallas to CBCS Canada??? |

@katkomics don’t you remember prior discussions? Your stuff doesn’t leave Oakville for Dallas or Dallas for Oakville unless the shipping container being used is full. That has no definite period involved, that’s based entirely on submissions. Then you have to have someone in Oakville to receive the box and divide up the comics to final destinations, possibly combining subs if more than one per person exists. Then the books have to be packaged for shipping out and actually be shipped AND then the computer is updated. If Oakville is only part-time staffed, then you also have to deal with time away from the office and that can add up to tons of extra time involved. Steve Psulus is still the only connection between Dallas and Oakville so all Canadian related communications go thru him. Unfortunately that’s all there is, still. Keep making noise, maybe tag some other higher ups to try and get them to talk with Steve about it all, but it’s likely to just come down to “COVID lockdowns are preventing proper information flow and communications”

@cyrano0521 lol!!! can barely remember yesterday never mind!!! a full container eh.....would have been a better service level..or at least more predictable if it were monthly or bi-weekly etc. So the next question is...roughly how long to fill a container? Kind of self fulfilling doom then yes?? Longer Canadian TAT's mean more Canadian submissions go straight to Dallas which results in longer TAT's and more to Dallas...and longer TATs etc.etc.! If you could guarantee a shipment on say the 15th and 30th of every month or even just 1 time per month then maybe less go direct to Dallas and more use of the Canadian service resulting in the Canadian operation being more viable?? |

@MrWiggalz Mine were March 10th..I've had an e-mail from Steve Paulus (CBCS Canada) last week saying that the Oakville location is still working. Have a feeling our books are either waiting for a full container to send to CBCS US or are already there and now waiting to be entered as arrived Still sucks...no real way to tell where they are. Would love to know just how frequently books are sent to the US or from the US back to Canada (as I have 2 orders in ShipToCanada status - 1 since March 12!!) |

Any update on how backed up receiving is? I dropped some off at a local convention two weeks ago tomorrow and they are still not showing as received. Not quite worried yet (as I usually mail my submissions in myself and they are marked as received within a week) but I am starting to feel a little anxious. Just want to know they made it safely. Thanks.

@jsrtt Receiving is about 3 weeks behind. Your turnaround started when we received them, no matter how long it takes to get them in the system.

@katkomics, i agree there should be timed shipments as well as full containers. I do not know anything 100%, but logistics state that’s best way to keep costs down.

I think even just adding a status to say something like "Received at CBCS Canada" would help a LOT. My property being lost or damaged is my biggest concern. With no contact or direction from anyone at CBCS, I've invested a fair chunk of change and many of my high value items. Transparency is important. |

Someone has to me able to do that. Part-time help might not have enough time to do that, and maybe not even access to the system. But i agree more transparency would be better.

Order shipped today! Received email 1-4 (they actually got it earlier; it was for the holiday2020 promotion). Into pressing email the same day (into the pressing queue at least). Into grading room email 4-22 (they had fast pass but not fast press, so the ~16 weeks includes pressing time and half a modern TAT wait). Into production 4-23, completed and shipping 4-26. |

The CBCS Canada is at this point little more than a forwarding service. They'll receive the packages and gather enough to send a tote down to Dallas for a fee ( $X per package) and that's about it for their part on the receiving side. |
