NNNooooooooooooo (imagine that Hans Christian Anderson? guy as Dark Vader) Ontario into mega lockdown...non essential warehouse work to be closed.....with 2 orders in 'ShipToCanada' status I think I'm F'd Too bad - one had 15 books where I was going to sell 10 or 12..the other 5 book order was all PC and was looking forward to having them back home If they were in transit to CBCS Canada they will likely now be stuck in a warehouse for 6 weeks minimum why 4 or 5 weeks to ship to Canada? Maybe I got lucky and that 15 book order made it here and is out for delivery now....but no way to know ![]() |

Canada Post tracking number says my comics arrived in Oakville, Ontario March 9th. Still haven't hear anything from CBCS in regards to them actually getting them, and my order # has no status change, even after 4 weeks. Getting a little worried that I haven't heard anything. ![]() |

Wish someone could tell us what is happening with the CBCS Canada location...when was the last shipment of books i.e. are March books sent to the US (just not in the system yet?) will April books be held for ????? - will they honor the SAVETEN April promo if it takes till May or June for them to get our books?? |

@KatKomics I have no idea about your situation and I hope for the best, but in regards to promos. They do it by postmarked date. That's the one thing that should be in your favor.... |

Hello Everyone, I would like to get your opinion on the matter, I have written before in the past with my issue with CBCS and how they handle my order, that I had sent my order since August 2020 and on September I had the mention ShiptoCanada and when I called or wrote to CBCS (always the same song, it's coming or please write to S Paulus), I have received my order last March 2021, I have other books with signatures that I would like to send but not sure I should, I have read in the forum it would be better for me to send everything in Dallas instead of Oakville, I would like to have your honest opinions on the matter please, the forum was very helpful last time, just want to say thank you who helped and gave advice, will wait to hear form you all

@vlad it's a tough one....I might try sending an email myself to Steve Paulus. I just don't know if the Oakville location is still actively sending our books to Dallas with the latest lockdown (ends May 20th). Depending what you have done to your books I would maybe send direct to Dallas but with the CBCS Canada paperwork. BUT...so...I almost always have pressing which adds tons of time so direct to Dallas with return through Canada works for me...surely in 6 months time Oakville will be up and running. IF you don't do pressing then there is the possibility of your books being returned while Oakville is maybe still shutdown (as I expect the May20th date to be pushed out) so maybe direct return from Dallas and then 40minutes with FedEx on the phone to waive the brokerage fees (thieving bast@rds!) |

I understand what you’re saying, it’s true I will have some crazy fees with FedEx, I have no pressing to be done but I have 5 comics that needs the signature verification and regular grading on 5 modern comics, so like I wrote before, better Dallas or wait after May 20th but not sure if the lockdown will end... thanks KatComics

@vlad got an email back from Steve Paulus - CBCS Canada is still open to receive orders and will still be shipping to Dallas and receiving and shipping our books back to us. Soooo....probably safe to still use CBCS Canada....now you could speed things along by direct ship to Dallas with return through CBCS Canada as there still seems to be at least a month or more from delivery to CBCS Canada and entry into the CBCS US system/start of TAT. |

I just back from SCComiCon held this past weekend where I submitted some 7(?) more books to CBCS on-site. I specifically asked what current TAT was, since I have another 63 there (which they’ve already had for anywhere from 4-6 weeks). I was told that they are looking at a current time of 6-9 weeks. Have no idea how true or false that may be. Just thought I’d share. |

@jesse_o Quick shipping question, so i just paid the last of my processing bill and my books are now going to encasement. when I look at my order in my dashboard it has my 2day Fedex return shipping but in the order itself still lists my old address. I have updated my address on the site but want to make sure the shipping guys use whats on the site and not what's on the order page as I have moved. if they use the order number page how can i get that updated? |

This thread is making me nervous. I had Canada Post tracking report my 8 books were delivered yesterday, but nothing on here to indicate the package is being handled. It could be sitting under a desk somewhere collecting dust. The whole process is a bit murky. I really had to hunt to get the Oakville address (that it was being handled in Canada was the only reason I didn't try CGC - dealing with customs is a huge pain). What is the point of CBCS Canada if these packages end up going to Dallas anyhow? I have another 17 to be graded. Think I'll hold off until I hear something about current submission. |

Quote:Originally Posted by cwazywabbit generally it is cheaper to send to Oakville than direct to Dallas and also there are no issues dealing with FedEx bogus charges or Customs when going though CBCS Canada - they take care of it all. Our books don't show as received/processing until they reach Dallas. CBCS Canada is not at the level is once was as there are no staff on site in Oakville right now as the CBCS Canada staff live in the US (can can't currently get here!) My issue with CBCS Canada is just how long does it take to get to Dallas or our books to come back from Dallas?? My March 10th order was received in Oakville but is still not showing...do shipments to the US happen every 2 weeks, once per month?? how long is the receiving process in Dallas?? Like wise I had an order go to 'ShipToCanada' on March 12th...so again...does it ship up here once a month?? is it a certain # or orders before it comes here. With the current lockdown...just how quick are the guys in Oakville at forwarding our books to us?? All questions with no answers |

@cwazywabbit It was a great idea, still saving you from dealing with customs and FedEx asking for money to customs clear stuff you own and ideally save shipping costs for you. No one knew that the coof would turn the process into a poop pile. It wouldn't be cost effective to duplicate the Dallas infrastructure in Canada. I sent my very first submission in May 2020, I think it arrived in Dallas in August and then kudos to them as I believe they fast tracked those as they flew through the system once they got to Dallas. I just got them back recently as they did wait quite a while sitting as ShipToCanada. I did notice my last shipment to the Canada office actually made it quite quickly to Dallas (<25 days). My personal solution, ship direct to Dallas (shipping isn't that bad), get fast pressing and fast grading. Turnaround is pretty darn quick that way. Downside is shipping cost back and FedEx fees. Use the Canada office for stuff you are in no hurry for. |
