@xkonk - 10/22?? Crap, I keep thinking I'm going to get my comics back some day, but that's a month and a half before my receive date! I need to edit my will to include the need for somebody to pickup my comics, just in case I die of old age while waiting. I'm looking at just short of half a year, for total turnaround time. That's ridiculous.

@Donnied if your submission contained Pressing yes, if not, you should receive back shortly.

@Donnied Yeah, I send most of my stuff for pressing and don't use fast press/pass. So I was expecting ~24 weeks. I'm not in a rush. And in this case the stuff I included that I planned on selling has probably doubled in value, so I'm not even mad.

@xkonk My next batch will be the same....pressing with no fast press/pass. When it's for your PC it's easier to wait. As long as they're not rushing the process I'm fine with TATs.

My latest order has gone from processing to ‘Received’; probably about a week ago. First time I’ve noticed this, actually. Just curious as to if this means anything specific. Thx!

Not really. It just means that they finally got around to entering it on the "client" computer. CBCS has an internal computer network that is more detailed and accurate, and then they have the network that we can see. Your tat time started the next business day after your order was delivered. I hope that helps.

4 weeks in ShipToCanada...hopefully only another 1 or 2 weeks until it's at my door??

Also 4 weeks since tracking says delivered to CBCS Canada - likewise...another 1 or 2 weeks until it shows as received in Dallas??

well the other company has lost a lot of clients due to just not seeming to care any more and the rudeness of the support person. So all those people showed up on this door step. I'd rather wait 1/2 a year and know I got the correct grade.

Do you know how the press check works, like I sent in 5 moderns and just to be safe I added the check for press to improve, which I doubt all will need press but 1 I feel would only help. any info on previous dealing in this would be greatly appreciated

@timberghost That's why I'm never going back to such and such company across the street. They're stacking turn arounds over there like the crates at the end of Raiders of the lost ark!

@timberghost - I have submitted orders as with press screen and just straight press/no screen. It all depends on the comic. I can say that I have had quite a few screen that did not get pressed and quite a few that did. Also, as @jesse_o noted above, CBCS internal tracking system is separate from the Dashboard, so in most cases, you won't even notice if a press/screen was pressed until well after pressing completed when billing is updated.

If you send for press screening it goes through the pressing TAT. That's probably important to note since people like getting their books faster, and they'll wait that long even if they end up not getting pressed.

Once your books get in front of a presser, they evaluate the book to decide if it will likely improve at least one grade (3 to 3.5, 9.2 to 9.4, etc.) if pressed. If they think it will probably improve, they press it. You then pay for pressing. If not, they don't press it and you just paid your $5 for the screen. After pressing it goes to grading as normal.

Kinda off topic but if any of you are like me and have difficulty estimating TAT given holidays and weekends, here is a site that helps calculate time elapsed.

Just plug in start date and current date and make sure week ends and holidays are ticked off...

My most recent order went ShipToCanada on Mar. 11th. Previous order went ShipToCanada on Jan. 21st and was delivered on Mar. 18th. If that is still the current ship time then this most recent order has another month to go before I see it.

I hate to say this because it's not in my personal best interest, but I think CBCS might need to consider offering some priority treatment to submissions that go through their Canadian consolidator. Based on what's in this thread, it looks like our Northern brethren take a beating at every turn. But it also appears that CBCS has a pretty loyal following in Canada, given the unusually high percentage of Canadian forum members. It might be in the best interest of CBCS to acknowledge the additional difficulties and costs of being a Canadian customer and do something to offset that...and maybe in return they could charge a couple extra dollars for that consideration. Or maybe just offer a significant discount on a modified version of Fast Pass (call it Canadian Fast Pass?) for books that come through the Canadian consolidator. I suspect this would reduce the customer service/communications complaints by more than half.

Hi all, I’m new to CBCS and submitted my first 4 books. They were received 4-1-21 still just showing submitted. I thought they may show received by now in my dashboard. Should I be concerned or just more patient?

@boxbow be a little patient. They're behind on getting orders into the system. Mine took about a week to show on the dash. One thing I didn't know was that cbcs has n internal computer system that track your oder upon delivery! That's where the turn around really starts!

Welcome to the group!

Especially true with the various covid limitations. Surely CBCS knows if, say, their Canadian office is temporarily closed or if our books have to wait for a truck to fill up or whatever. Its not just that kind of info though. For my last order, I rec'd the out for delivery notice more than 2 weeks after my books were actually delivered. Basic emails to their customer service email address just don't get a response, and moderators have to be bugged to attend to different requests through forums etc. It's gotta be hard to find/run a system that provides effective communication to this many customers but at the moment it doesn't seem to be working very well at all.
