@Comicninja0215 Isn't that time based from when they start work on the books though? So 11 weeks out from now would be mid-June, but if they don't start working on them until April we're looking at July. Which also doesn't account for shipping. So I thought July would be a good timeline.

@GregAtoms No, it's from when you send it in. Most of the TAT is waiting time to have someone put the book in front of them, whether it's for grading or pressing. If you sped up pressing and grading for something in the usual 12 week range (like, your order isn't all 2-Day moderns) then getting them back at some point in June seems about right.

Hey guys,

I know that CGC does an accelerated pressing/grading process for comics that have been sent for a signature event.

I was wondering if it was the same with CBCS. Or does the turnaround time remains the same?

@Jeremysitb fast pass cuts the turnaround time for grading in half and fast press cuts the pressing time in half.

Thanks ! So this is not automatic like with CGC (you have automatic fastpass when sending books for signing)
With CBCS, it’s an additional service from what I understand from you.

Hi, this is my first (relatively) bigger submission and last time I sent in books they were in grading for no more than a week. My books have been in grading since March 9th. Is that normal or should I be concerned? Again, might be fretting over nothing. Just thought that I'd hear back sooner. Thanks!

@jokioo notifications do not reflect the reality of what stage your comix are in. you can theoretically get the "GRADING" and the "shipping" notifications the same day. its kind of random....

I have zero idea what CBCS log is like currently, but CGC is over a month in getting their stuff logged after receipt from what another member said. I can only imagine the influx of books being graded right now is extremely heavy....

Three questions for your consideration:

1) Any idea on the turnaround for simple email inquiries to their main customer service email?

2) How about the current turnaround times for posting grader's notes? All my comics (Shipped to me on Jan. 21st and delivered to me on March 18th) are still "invalid" which makes me feel rather inadequate.

3) Not a turnaround question but when reslabbing, do they simply pop that book out of the old slab and put it in a new one? Or do they do a quick regrade to see if it still qualifies for the old grade? I guess, I am asking if you ever get a book back in a new slab and it is graded lower than when you sent it in?

@Silverado - I can only answer one of your questions - #3.Yes, you can get a lower grade if you submit a book to be re-slabbed. However, this would only happen if the book was damaged by a broken or shaken slab, or shows other evidence (water damage, fading, foxing, etc.) that it is no longer in the same condition as when it was graded. I would expect these incidences to be fairly rare, but not impossible.

Has anyone gotten back a raw grade order recently? I've been in labels for a while and am wondering if that's the holdup.

Hi ho Silverado!!!...no really - hello, welcome to the boards!!

1) reply to customer service e-mail.....I believe these are handled by Helen....her last name is Waite...so usually to get a response you need to go to Helen Waite!!!! there is almost zero chance that customer service will respond to you...maybe it's a lottery system on who gets and answer..who knows!!

2) yeah..I've had that too...books in hand but no notes/photos on the site....you may get further trying to message one of the forum moderators @Jesse_O for instance

@comixcited Thank you for the clarification. Just to make sure that I'm understanding correctly, the notifications don't really mean anything? As in, my books have been marked graded but could be anywhere along in the process? Or have they at least made it to the grading stage?

@jokioo It's pretty rare for something to be marked early but more common for stages to be marked late or skipped entirely (depending on how often you're checking your invoice).

you know, i guess after reading this post I am now a little frustrated at seeing multiple posts of people who have dropped off items in late Jan, early feb. and even march who have gotten either their books back already or have some status update on where their books are at.

makes me again really wonder about my question as to what is the criteria for processing books that I asked almost a month ago in the main forums and got crickets from CBCS.

I guess if the impetus goes to those that can afford to process 200+ books, should I just expect my stuff to take 8 months or more if i can only afford 10 or 20?

if being a "Super Presser" bumps me to the front of the line should I just start tapping local friends to bulk ship to CBCS in hopes of a faster turn around time?

at this point the dashboard seems like a pretty useless feature if there isn't someone honestly updating it on a timely basis. Which is sad as that was my primary reason for sending my books to CBCS.
