@joseabc @vlad @smohcomic

Ship to Canada is the status they stay at until they leave the Oakville location. The September one is a bit too long but there are lots of pieces to the puzzle we don't know.
- how often do they actually "ship to Canada"
- are they held in like a covid quarantine once here?
- how long does it take for the Oakville location to separate the orders and ship them via your choice of carrier
- I realllly can't remember what shutdowns were in effect in Oakville or what was actually operating i.e. December to just recently we were in lockdown - was the Oakville site running? was it at reduced staff? sounds like the CBCS books are something another company is handling while the border is closed (no CBCS staff on site)...did they just take care of their main business and let things slide on the CBCS front?? we'll never know!

I wrote to them so many times and call customer service, yes there was an issue because of COVID but never had a straight answer, issue still not resolved until I get my comics

I appreciate the offer, but unfortunately it's a Canadian Shipment. The actual time spent once "Received" by CBCS on the website to the "ShiptoCanada" Limbo/Purgatory status, was quite speedy. I've been bookended by unexplained delays because I submitted to the Canadian offices in August. My only complaints have been specifically shipping related and all revolve around the Canadian Office.

Wow. I'm getting very upset at this point and I'm almost at 90 days since the status changed to "ShiptoCanada". You've been waiting until September? That's absolutely brutal. I'm glad they're finally on their way to you!

@KatKomics your submission should be updated...hopefully #soon lol!

@waynemel on the dashboard there is a hyperlink called Invoice. Click the link and your invoice .pdf opens up. On the right side of your invoice is the status of your submission.

Good to know @GAC Did not know that the invoice was active like that. I checked mine and it just shows Submitted. Maybe not current. Will check on it again at a later time now that I know about this.

So I was a little bored at work(Don't tell my boss) I threw this together to see the timelines for my submissions.

So according to what I read previously, the TAT starts the next business day after you get the received email. That's the fourth column.

The time from Oakville to Dallas keeps getting longer from this trend. (Given there is about 2 to 4 days for Canadapost to deliver to Oakville)

Ship to Canada almost 8 weeks and counting.

@rgreenson yeah....I'm learning..slowly but I'm learning.
If I have books I want to sell....I should put on their own order and have MCS pick them up in Dallas this means a direct ship to Dallas

If they are books I want for my own collection then I'm ok with the long times/CBCS Canada...unfortunately I have 3 orders in process that are a mix...books I want to keep and sell...in those instances I should not have used CBCS Canada and I won't in the future, I'll just send straight to CBCS US.

I kind of think the CBCS Canada business is shooting itself in the foot. Longer times to ship to US from Canada and longer return times leads more people to not use the CBCS option...which leads to longer times and the cycle continues? Not sure what the trigger is...i.e. do they ship to Canada every 2 weeks, every 3?? is it when they have a certain # of orders?? If it is # of orders then we could get in the situation I described above...less orders means longer times which results in less orders and even longer times etc.etc. I fear that is the case...which means I'll be using CBCS US rather than CBCS Canada for most future orders.

Now I get that part of the delay is the border issue and not having CBCS staff on site in Canada...and maybe all of that will change at some point in the future and the CBCS Canada option will again be a good one....but it doesn't seem like that's going to be the case anytime soon.

Checked my status this a.m and it has been updated from Submitted to Grading. If I go to the invoice itself, it shows Label. My submission was back in Oct with the pressing promo. It is moving along.

Well, here we are at 90 days.

I think that's more than a reasonable amount of time to wait for CBCS to ship my books back to me.

Time to start emailing the contact for the Canadian "Operations".

yup...think I might be done with CBCS Canada until the border re-opens
Too bad...for a brief while before the world shut down it was a decent option!

I asked this in the pressing forum but maybe here is better. Does CBCS usually say when books enter pressing? Mine seemed to sit as Billing then go straight to Grading. Makes me wonder if they got pressed... (first time ordering pressing so I am unsure how it all works).

@Silverado the last couple orders I sent, I got emails that they went into pressing at the same time they were received. So that isn't helpful. In the past I have gotten emails when they actually entered the pressing room but I wouldn't say that happens 100% of the time.

If your books are already into grading then they were pressed if they were going to be. If you paid for pressing then they were pressed. If you did press screen then you might not know for a bit. I've been billed for pressing after a press screen at the same time my books shipped.

I had an order with signatures to get verified along with pressing. I probably will end up sending it in anyway to use the perks on my membership before it expires since it's already been half a year now.

I'm certainly not sending it to the Canadian location though. What a mistake that was. I saved 40 bucks on shipping and gained 4 months and counting on the turn around time.

In other news my CGC order was received in less than 3 weeks after delivery and I even got an email notification! Zounds!
