I also enjoyed Mother Night and the Sisters of Sin. They fought against Cap and were affiliated with the Red Skull. Maybe if Warrior Nun really takes off, Marvel will put them in movies (yeah, right).

I’m going Anti Hero with Terror. Eternal entity who can assimilate body parts and gains memories, skills and abilities from “donors”. A solid concept that could have had a more ambitious story line. If tweaked a bit or introduced into a more popular series like Ghost Rider, Captain America, Or Deadpool as a reoccurring foe/ally; I think Terror would have done well and may have been more received. The MAX reboot was ok and there were a few mini series, but I would have liked to see Terror in a more concrete roll.

I only heard of Terror a few years ago. He was part of Deadpools Mercs for Money in the Deadpool & Mercs for Money series

I think for villain it's Mongol. Kind of poor-mans Thanos but with darker motivations. Loved the Superman birthday story with the "Black Mercy" flower, which maybe the Black Mercy would also qualify as a plant villain? Mongol has a dark origin story where as a child he murders his infant brother, or maybe it was his twin infant brother? Had to prove he was ready to take out any challengers.
For hero I would love to see a really well-written story dive into Multiple Man. So many questions to answer about the connections between all the multiples.

Grimjack is pretty much a forgotten hero these days but is still a great character. For an obscure villain I would go with the Onion, who came up against Richie Rich on numerous occasions with his super power of really awful breath.

As someone who never heard of Terror, from your description he sounds cool. But teenage me probably never gave that book a chance because that title didn't convey to me what the character was. It's sad but I think sometimes the obvisous names for characters work because they give an idea whats cool about the character before you even turn the first page.

@Darkseid_of_town I collect mainly comics from 90 to earlier, and was curious you mentioned Carnage. Is he considered unpopular now? Kinda like Venom I'd figured he'd always have a fan base.

Don't know if hes been mentioned but molecule man. I feel like he was written way to powerful even by some of today's comic book standards. The ability to control, transform, and manipulate almost all atoms is a bit insane.

In the Watchmen that was considered to be a God-like power for Dr. Manhattan.

And Firestorm of course. And I guess Element Lad from the Legion of Superheroes.

Yes, I was thinking Harley Quinn, Punisher, and Carnage are pretty popular.

I was a fan of Captain Marvel Jr. and Isis when I was a kid. Don't see them around much.

There was a series in the 1990's that I really liked called Chase. Cameron Chase was the main character. It didn't catch on and was cancelled after nine issues, but I remember it being very smart and well done.

Is John Stewart considered "unpopular", despite being a Green Lantern?

If so, he is my pick.

I liked John Stewart in the Justice League cartoon. Not too familiar with his comics though. I did like the Kyle Rayner version of GL. I had a few of the issues after he took over the mantle when Hal went mental. Some of my more DC-oriented friends did not like him as GL. I don't know about the popularity of that character either.

https://cmro.travis-starnes.com/character_details.php?character=122&page=2&list_type=2&limit=40&order_listing=1 Here is a link to all of his appearances, I cant say I ever actively seek out molecule man appearances but he does show up most often in fantastic four comics. I personally know him from fantastic four but I saw him in the secret wars comics (dont recommend reading that though).
