lol, Grimlock spends his day surrounded by Dinosaurs and pictures and statues of large-chested women. He must have some interesting thoughts on what the outside world looks like. |

Heart want what the heart wants??? I see lots about potential this and potential that and that's fine but then the question is more philosophical in nature it is really more investment or collection? I collect - that is, I buy what I like and almost never sell - I like that the books have "value" but realistically I'm not selling - maybe my kid will (caveat - I need to purge so I will be selling in the next few years 8.5k books - down to 1 or 2 thousand??) Both books have lots going for them - both have iconic covers both have 1st appearances, both are pricey and both will likely continue to increase in "value". If I were to get Hulk 181 I could sell all my other Wolverine books, likewise with GSX I could feel ok about off loading all my other "X" books I think with the switch to Disney at some point both X-Men and Wolverine will turn up - it's hard to imagine that Wolverine or Patch or whatever won't be a major part of that - Marvel was basically Wolverine publishing house for a while there - seemed like every title had him Will Disney push the other GSX characters with a lean towards today's social climate - 100% - why not! about time!! need more than white guys out there. Will there be an increase in value and will that % increase be higher than Hulk 181 - time will tell, but neither will be a bad purchase If you really want to invest then stocks/bonds/mutual funds exist and over time you will make way more with compounding interest. Comics is just playing - buy what your heart wants....if it wants both then buy both!! For youngsters out there - this is 1 way to afford a grail. Have discipline...know what you want and what you are willing to pay...stop buying over hyped variants and cut down your pull list and save that $$ for the grail you are looking for - you will be shocked how quickly that $$ you were spending will accumulate! |

He has lived here since he was small enough to fit in my hand and its home for him, but it has to be confusing. Thrown in my other cat Ziva, a shelter rescue who is perfectly described as grumpy cat, that hides most of the time, seldom emerges and when she does its to be fussy and complain! |

Riffing off the "I bought my copy when and for what" posts in the thread, I paid 25 cents for my cherry Incredible Hulk #181 - right off the spinner rack at Ross Drug in West St. Paul. Even then, I would pull out the middle copy that didn't have "spinner rack spine-stress" at the top staple. So it was very high grade. The bad news is I was really hurting for money one year in college and sold it for 20 bucks. C'est la vie ... I wonder where that copy is today.

But take it out completely and the dish will be bland and boring. If you get the amount right the speculation can make buying and selling quite fun while also building a personal collection. Right now I spend about 70% of my sales proceeds on personal collection and about 30% on books that I hope will prove me to be a capable prognosticator when I resell them. |

I see neither as investment options, both are past the price points I would be comfortable buying a comic book for. Regardless of all the $$$ %%% talk..... Hulk #181 is just a cooler book to own for me personally. |

Don't expect your collection to grow overnight and you'll have to work and suffer to make it happen. There isn't a shortcut to the hobby. Even with unlimited funds time will still be the ingredient you'll find in short supply. On your Disney topic, I'd say the biggest issue surrounding Wolverine is the violence associated with the character. I'm not sure how Disney deals with that in the future and how far they can push that envelope. Personally, if I was going to reboot the X-Men franchise then I'd build the team with Storm, Gambit, X-23, Bishop, and Rogue. Make the team much younger and have Kitty Pride replace Charles as the head of the school. That way you can bring in Colossus if you ever need him. Deadpool can show up and be introduced into the MCU. Deadpool is another character that will be a headache for Disney though. I find myself buying OA now that my son likes and more than likely isn't going to provide any type of return. However, that isn't what it is about for me or for him. It is about creating memories surrounding of a certain time in his life when we did something together. That's worth more to me than any financial return. That's what makes the squeeze worth it today. |

@Darkseid_of_town I don't own a pet, but arent cats known for pushing stuff off counters and other random acts of destruction? I'd be wary of having all those rare items by a cat. |

So four votes for IH 181 VS 2 FOR Giant size Incidentally if people expect hulk vs wolverine to be a thing how would you see marvel getting around the corner that they painted themselves in with professor one armed genius hulk |

It would be simple. You introduce Amadeus Cho into the MCU and kill off Banner. I would be very much in favor of that happening.

No idea about speculation that they will fight each other, but one way to get around one arm is to simply say it healed. His arm wasnt severed, it was in a brace / sling if I recall correctly.

I'm sure they could think of something, including some problem that sets Hulk back to being a brute, freeing up Mark R. if they wish. |

Correct, they could somehow remove Banner from the professor hulk equation and somehow miraculously heal his badly damaged arm...and they could this or that....but they wont. We just did seventeen straight years of wolverine movies....other than the die hard wolverine fans, people are exhausted with the character. Expect marvel to slow and ease into the wolverine thing and take their time.... For now I would bet he gets a new suit from Shuri in the Black panther sequel made from Antarctic Vibranium….the savage land! |

https://movieweb.com/avengers-endgame-hulk-injury-explained-russo-brothers/ So I guess when the producers of a movie explain the entire idea is permanent, that it isn't magically going away..he is damaged and isn't healing, I trust them. And given the extent of that injury I just somehow...and I know its just using every angle to not believe, but I just don't see hulk going toe to toe with someone like wolverine anytime like eminent. |

Did you watch the entire video where the Russos go on to say that "who knows, there's alot of smart people left, maybe someone goes on to repair that, maybe someone gives him a new arm...who knows, we have no idea where this character goes from here" The narrator of the video even goes on to give plausible reasons... |

Despite the apparent finality of everything involving the Infinity Stones, Russo said that there could still be a way for the Hulk to regain his lost strength. "Who knows? There's a lot of really smart people left," Russo said. "Maybe somebody helps him repair that. Maybe somebody gives him a new arm. Who knows? I have no idea where that character goes from here. In order to heal his arm, Banner must allow savage hulk to take over. After healing his arm, Banner can not regain control over his green side...enter wolverine. I should be a Marvel writer making all that $$$. |
