Just submitted this book today under the 2 day modern tier. I had been holding off ever since they first showed the new slabs a few months back. Now that they are officially starting to use them I submitted her today. So what do you think the grade will be. I already have an idea but lets see how many agree with me. This post is mostly just for fun.      |

| I was getting ready to throw out 5.0 myself, but I did want to mention you should spring for a press of this book. It could get you a half grade higher and I am sure the value gained easily pays for the service. Getting it pressed through CBCS will take extra time but it is worth the wait as well. Good luck and awesome book. | ||

| For questions like this, I like to provide a target value with a variance. I would say 5.5 +/- 0.5 as shown. |

| With a book of that value, I think one should always consider a clean and press...for the cost of the service, it can do nothing but improve the appearance and value of the book.I would say a 6.0- 6.5 AFTER a clean and press. Good luck in your submission. | ||

| FWIW the pressing on 2-Day modern should basically be fast-pressed so it won't be quite as bad a wait if you do it through CBCS. | ||

| water damaged corner. I could see it getting a 5.0 and if cleaned and pressed maybe go up to a 5.5 - 6.0 | ||

| @SpiderTim looks like water damage in photos but its not. Its actually tanning. There is also some along the bottom | ||

| @xkonk opted not to clean or press. The book is overall very clean but the spots you see are tanning not dirt. Try to keep away from pressing on these old square bound glued books as they are way to easy to crush spine or staple pop the cover May revisit a pressing if the book does not come back the grade I think it will |

| 6.5 or better. I had a rag with more tanning than yours and a tiny hole in the cover that got a 7.5. You should be good to go with that copy. | ||

| @SpiderTim Cleaned yes but not pressed due to the square bound. Didn't want to risk spine crushing as it was already squished some. But book was mostly dinged for the foxing. | ||
