thats one of my favorite characters, I bought my copy back in the 80's, came back an 8.5. Just because I love that cover, thought many times to get one around 9.4 or so. Congrats

@Batman66 Thanks! I looked at a lot of copies of this book, including a few 8.5's, but they all had mis-wrapped covers or some other issue which made them very unappealing to me. Im VERY happy with the choice of this book and Im glad I held out until finding the right one for me. Thanks Again!

@BigRedOne1944 - Great pickup, John. That's an awesome looking copy. It's been on my want list forever, and somehow TWO copies slipped through my fingers only a few days apart right before last Christmas.

The Books of Magic (volume 2) #25 is NM+. It is also the first (and only) Chris Bachalo cover to include Death of The Endless. The series was rebooted in 2018 and is part of The Sandman Universe.

Death: The High Cost of Living #3 is NM+ and is the "corrected" variant. So it might have a smaller print run than the "error" variant. Plus this is Death's actual first appearance in her own series.

I'll skip on the "hefty" price I had to pay for them. <-(Not serious about the "hefty" part.)

Death Talks About Life is an 8 page comic book that has Death talk about safe sex and Aids. Will submit it as-is but my hunch is that it is also NM+. John Constantine cameos in the comic.

Thanks Ed! Things sometimes happen for a reason. Those two copies were not destine for you. Sometimes it is a matter of the right one finding you when you least expected it

That books is an amazing acquisition and congrats...I love the marvel silver age monochromatic covers. I noticed it might just be the angle the book is posed in for the picture, but it does make that one look slightly mis-wrapped at the bottom. I wondered then about it, must just be the angle or lighting

I think the monkey is also up to no good, but he is definitely enjoying the view too!

@EbaySeller I think it's a cherry. This means back in the 1940s a sexy, beautiful, or a hot girl. The monkey's meaning is an addiction to a drug.

So I guess the artest is saying that hot women is his addiction and if they're yours, then this book is for you.

Really cool art as well. Looks like my 1940's pinup girl tattoos.

Should post it in the Pedigree Thread too. That Pedigree is extremely hot right now. Especially those with identifying markings on them, but any book from the collection is very desirable

@ganasouth @esaravo @darkseid_of_town thanks for good morning laugh. You guys made me look at it closer and now it even appears the Monkey is 'blowing'

@Sagii You can see the markings if you look at it in person. Very faint pencil between the J and U in Jumbo. An F, under that a 2, under that a 27.

@Sagii - The monkey is whistling at the woman. Great cheesecake cover that would be frowned on today.

I think @GanaSoth has nailed it. The girl is a "cherry" now but she's also a drug addict. The huffing and puffing monkey (her drug addiction) is working pretty hard to relieve her of her good looks and desirability. Pretty deep stuff.

No one has addressed why her skirt is flaring up so much in the back. Is she just particularly gassy?

I had hoped to win this one but it went a little too high for me. The listing said it had pencil code notations in the upper left corner but I could not see anything in the ebay photo and I don't see it in your photo either. Does this have a code there?

Looking to the right of the lady you can see the extending portion of the chair back which she is sitting in...extending that backer across the chair, her skirt would be held up by it across the entire length of the chair.

They're barely visible in the photo, but if you squint you can probably make them out.

I agree!! I like where CBCS puts the verified notation as well. Meaning that it is in the same spot as witnessed.

Very nice books @naftixe!!

I thought they were going to stop using abbreviations though? I see sig and sigs versus signature and signatures
