It was my fault I kind of forgot. The dog has been flipping out over fireworks. He crushed a nail last night and bled all over, at 1:50 he opened it back up lunging at the tv. Bastard comic blocked me.

@HeinzDad

Hopefully your dog is okay.

I hate these fireworks and I know pets hate them even more.

@BigRedOne1944, yes, it is in terrific shape and I got a really sweet deal. I've known the guy who owns the store for close to 40 years and have bought and sold lots of books over that time. He deals in everything: comics, sports cards, coins, stamps, records, you name it. I've got my eye on some other books, I'll post them as I get them.

Owned a LCS in the 90s. These Been ungraded raw in a box since 1999 and just got them back from CBCS last week. The 4 biggest out of the 21 that I got back.

Had a small local convention last Sunday. I saved up my sales checks from MCS for about 6 weeks to have some money to spend. I dropped all that plus more on 5-6 books from one dealer:

I thought I had found the buy of the year with this book at half of FMV for 5.0, but at home I realized the dealer had noted "CT" on the label...you can guess what that meant. I think I see the color touch on the subscription crease.

This one looks beautiful but has a small 1/2" chunk missing from bottom of back cover:

Not a Dell or a Gold Key... But I am OK with that.

- 1:10 RI with an estimated run of 700 issues.
- 1st Della Duck in (American) comics.
- 1st (non-artwork) appearance of Della Duck in DuckTales (2017) fiction.

And she is reported to make her in-park debut at Epcot (currently via their app).

[EDIT: Upgraded the photo, sans any cat hair on it.]

thats one of my favorite characters, I bought my copy back in the 80's, came back an 8.5. Just because I love that cover, thought many times to get one around 9.4 or so. Congrats

@Batman66 Thanks! I looked at a lot of copies of this book, including a few 8.5's, but they all had mis-wrapped covers or some other issue which made them very unappealing to me. Im VERY happy with the choice of this book and Im glad I held out until finding the right one for me. Thanks Again!

@BigRedOne1944 - Great pickup, John. That's an awesome looking copy. It's been on my want list forever, and somehow TWO copies slipped through my fingers only a few days apart right before last Christmas.

The Books of Magic (volume 2) #25 is NM+. It is also the first (and only) Chris Bachalo cover to include Death of The Endless. The series was rebooted in 2018 and is part of The Sandman Universe.

Death: The High Cost of Living #3 is NM+ and is the "corrected" variant. So it might have a smaller print run than the "error" variant. Plus this is Death's actual first appearance in her own series.

I'll skip on the "hefty" price I had to pay for them. <-(Not serious about the "hefty" part.)

Death Talks About Life is an 8 page comic book that has Death talk about safe sex and Aids. Will submit it as-is but my hunch is that it is also NM+. John Constantine cameos in the comic.

Thanks Ed! Things sometimes happen for a reason. Those two copies were not destine for you. Sometimes it is a matter of the right one finding you when you least expected it

That books is an amazing acquisition and congrats...I love the marvel silver age monochromatic covers. I noticed it might just be the angle the book is posed in for the picture, but it does make that one look slightly mis-wrapped at the bottom. I wondered then about it, must just be the angle or lighting
