picked these beautiful books up from a local guy. The KO Komi s is Kirby goodness, the major victory belonged to a soldier in ww2, supposedly joe simon's nephew. The black terror 1, man I am stoked to have it.

@Batman66 All of those covers are spectacular, but the KO...that's a show-stopping beauty that I've never seen before. the 3D effect, the great coloring...now you've got me searching the internet for one of those to go in my display case.

@EbaySeller Thanks buddy. I agree, a very unique cover. Kirby drew it, but the character isn't even in the book. The gerber scarcity index gives it a 6, possibly 50-200 copies existing. I will keep a search for it also, hopefully find one I'll let you know.

Two bucks each at Half Price Books. Thor has had the digital code sticker removed, but otherwise a very nice copy. Can’t complain for two bones.

@Batman66 awesome awesome books! That black terror 1 is killer! Loved that KO cover so much I hunted one down for myself, and it appears to be an Eldon pedigree as well! Seller only had it identified as "name written on cover".

@obrie2tm wow, that awesome. where did you find that. Eldon is my dad's middle name and passed it to my son's middle name

@obrie2tm Dang, I almost pulled the trigger on that copy earlier today! I also was kind of excited that it was an unrecognized "Eldon" pedigree. Apparently it does have some conservation done to it, possibly with glue or tape. Hopefully you were aware of that when you bought it.

Now we're talking about a club I would like to be in! I don't know exactly why, but as I've gotten older the idea of scarcity in a book has become more and more meaningful to me.

@EbaySeller thanks! I was excited about the pedigree as well. Yes, saw the conservation notes of small tear seal. I've honestly come around, particularly with golden age books, that conservation and even minor restoration (known of course) does not bother me in the least anymore. Especially when I am buying for my PC and want them to display nice once I get them set up. Agree with respect to the scarcity as well. I think that has really pulled me towards GA books recently....and the amazing cover art as well 🍻

Yeah, I'm starting to think that it's unlikely I will ever buy anything again for PC that doesn't have a 10 cent cover. I'm also with you on Golden Age conservation/restoration, it really doesn't bother me.
However it did make me pause just long enough for you to jump in and grab that book! Another interesting thought about scarcity...books that are both obscure and scarce don't have an established market value. It's very possible that the market price could double just by 4 or 5 of us having a conversation like this on a forum.

Two packages arrived today and both were from forum members. I have to say the generosity of board members never ceases to amaze me. I always feel like "why me?" but someone I spoke to said "It's just how I try to be, it's not just you". Anyways, you guys all know who you are and I have two more people to add.

@xjagnew sent me a dozen packs of Bernie Wrightson trading cards. I always over react to anything Bernie and he posted an unsealed box. So... he sent some. With a bonus Swampy 5. Here are some picks of my favs.

Total 90's goodness, hologram

My absolute favorite because it doesn't strike me as Wrightson. I've seen plenty of damsels in distress, old victorian garb, and other "hot chicks" but never a straight up Pin UP

Last week I my first MCS auction and @Tedsaid hit me up because of a Yoda quote or something, lol. He pulled his other copy from MCS and gave it to me at the auction price.

The first comic story I ever remember reading, would have been early 60’s sometime. Look forward to reading this one.

Heard 232 to 236 were kind of rare. I have 1 to about 50 in high grade and a few others that I like the covers on.

One more in the oddity category. I have a wreck of an X Men 1. Coverless, extra staples, missing ad page 15 16. Just found and bought the ad page on EBay, amazing! . I also bought a ragged but complete original cover some time ago.
Now I put it all together. Frankenstein married cover and ad page X-Men 1.
Might even get it graded.

Anywhere from a .5 to a 1.0 I would hope. I am sure I will send it in and post the result one day.

@doog yeah that conan 236 is rare. Last book I believe. Picked up a high grade copy from a dollar bin many years ago. Unfortunately I sold it later as I didn't have a magazine bag for it.
