We should have the forum rate our packages. HeinzDad private msg quote post Address this user
I've gave up on buying raw books quite some time ago. With forum advice and books I've traded for MCS seems to have it together, grade wise at least. These are just a couple books I was buying to sample their input.
The SW 23 is at 8.0 but looks 9.0. The SW 27 is at 9.0 and looks that. I also bought a second copy of the flaming carrot, both were 8.0 and there weren't any scans. The worse of the two is 8-8.5, the better is a 9.2 I'd say. Push comes to shove I'd order raws there again for sure, shipping is another story though.

I'd like to say I still turned out alright, but that would be a lie. flanders private msg quote post Address this user
@HeinzDad what happened with shipping? It's usually fast for me and only $5 even with large orders.

I complained about it on the usps thread so ill keep it short. Ups Innovations?? Ups delivers it to my local USPS? WTF is that. The package sat at my local branch for over a week because usps doesn't care about extra work they get dumped by UPS. Thats my opinion anyways. The fact happens to be a gemini mailer and media mail costs 3 something, considering these came in a Gemini???? Sorry about the rant, I'll still order from them again.

I think I have some ups innovations shipments coming my way from Midtown Comics. Hopefully it isn't delayed as well.

we had a somewhat local con last Sunday, not a whole lot of inventory but it was good to get around some comics and nerds. Most of the Key books Were overpriced, picked these 3 up for 145, I really love the cover on the 29, it reminds me of all star 8

@Bronte - That’s a phenomenal 6-pack of books! I used to own 4 or 5 copies of that issue, but my best copy would tie your worst. And to have a 9.8 DE and a 9.8 NE, that is an amazing feat, pun intended.

@esaravo

Thank you.

Having one of each is really nice.

I was seriously pleased with the results. I was praying for one 9.8 but 2 was a gift.

Shame you got rid of them. There is a rumor that the next movie will have black cat as a rival love interest to MJ.

@Bronte Nice! I just have my one copy of that, in 9.6. I didn't get it pressed before grading, and I keep waffling about whether I ought to crack/press/resub.

Thank you for your interest, but these are not for sale. My goal is to actually purchase 1 more for lucky 7 quantity.

@CatCovers

I have had mixed luck with press and resubmit with CGC. All the 194s were for benefit. A silver surfer 1 went from 6.5 cgc to 5.5 cgc with page quality drop. A marvel collectibles classic went from 9.6 cgc to 9.8 cgc.

My final book is nova 1. 9.6 cbcs and is in grading status currently.

If you dont think the book will take a grade drop the price increase associated with that grade increase is INSANE. I think its 550$ for a 9.6 but over 1850$ on gocollect for 9.8.

@Bronte - I didn’t get rid of all of them. I still have three (@AndyRexia has/had one of them). Two are actually at CBCS for press and grade, but those are much lower grades than your gems.

Congrats on the grades Bronte, wow talk about a live streak! amazing stuff there...
One of the few books I wish I had kept and still had...that character has become such a popular one since the nineties.

Hawkman 4, in that grade is pure music! I always liked that issue of Showcase, and its gotten pricey and tough to get. Perhaps the only example of a comic I have seen from vintage times with a female character on the cover wearing a wet t shirt no less

i picked these up tonight at auction, was looking up the fmv on the killing joke, there are 12 printings on this book, some are selling for just as much as the first print, that shocked me. Quote:

is there something going on with that showcase 79? I have a beautiful copy in my collection, never even looked into it, maybe I should

For what should be a rather mediocre book for the most part, its scoring on GPA
9.2 378
9.0 455
8.5 318

Even at 6.0 its a 160 dollar conversation....The best guess is either the good girl art cover, or the fact that aqualad becomes aquamans partner this issue?

Something seems to be going on. I noticed a couple months ago that it's selling for as much as the Solomon Grundy SA first in Showcase 55. Not sure why.

which is such an undervalued book. I think when people start waking up to the golden age characters, their silver age appearances should follow suite
