| Not practically, but it is conceivable that an accident occurred in production somehow. As a long-time Mark Jewelers collector, I was surprised a couple years back when I saw an auction for a Direct edition comic with the MJ insert (I forget off-hand what the book was). I won it out of curiosity and did not see any tell-tale signs of manipulation. |

| I’ve never heard of a Direct copy MJI, but as @manfred_spain mentions above, there’s always a possibility of a production error. There has been one Canadian price variant noted with the MJI which is itself highly improbable unless there was some overlap when plates were being changed at the printer to reflect the different pricing. The Canadian variant is a DD 231(June cover) and was sent to 3rd party grading and passed the resto check(graded 6.0). |

Found my Direct copy...it is an Iron Man #130. I've added a shot of the centerfold lower staple from both Editions, and they have similar paper punch marks. Hard to tell the difference (the one on top is the Direct). Plus, if manipulated, why do it to a low value book? |
