5th series #7, Legacy #626. This issue is all about the kids' team stuck in the other reality with X-Man. They develop some other or enhanced abilities, and also some different opinions about how the X-Men should be doing things. Pixie and Rockslide are on one side, Glob and Armor on the other, which of course leads to a fight. |

Day 27 starts with the return of the Mimic! An explosion in the chemistry lab reboots his memory and powers, and soon he's under the control of the Puppet Master. The Puppet Master heard of the X-Men through the super villain grapevine and originally tried to control Prof. X, but decided to settle for the Mimic. The team are able to take out one of Puppet Master's robots but can't defeat the Mimic; thankfully, Angel shows up (still hurting from last issue) and knocks the puppet away so that Mimic regains control. Despite the win, Mimic feels down because he feels he's just a copy of other people. |

#127 has a full confrontation with Proteus, who uses his reality-warping powers to keep the team at bay. When he realizes Moira is ready to shoot him, though, he escapes. He possesses his father's body and grabs Moira as the X-Men track him down again. I also have this guy, who will go up on the sales thread.  |

#227 wraps up the battle with the Adversary. With the whole thing being filmed and broadcast by a reporter, the X-Men finally confront him directly. In something of a callback to the Proteus fight (which will happen in tomorrow's #128), they realize that the Adversary is weak against metal and so Colossus lays into him. They also realize that the Adversary is coming through a portal that Forge opened years ago with the sacrifice of 9 people; the 8 X-Men and Madelyne Pryor agree to sacrifice their lives so Forge can close the portal. With the Adversary banished to another realm, Roma brings the X-Men back and they decide to let the world think them dead so that their families will be safe. Thus the team splits with Wolverine, Storm, Rogue, Psylocke, Colossus, Dazzler, Havok, and Longshot (along with Madelyne) headed for parts unknown. |

| #327 has clones! One clone, at least, of Magneto. He shows up at an orphanage in Guatemala with no memory of his past but uses his powers to defeat a general who tries to blackmail him. This one has a tape pull that makes me sad.  |

#427 is a self-contained story that brings Jubilee back into the fold. She and Husk go to a cemetery to pay their respects to Skin only to find that he is being dug up. Apparently the cemetery's religious background doesn't like mutants. They argue with the manager and he agrees to cremate Skin, so they at least get to leave with his remains. |

#527 has the team rescue and recruit the next of the Five Lights, Velocidad. Emma is also all over the place, as she meets with Tony Stark and Namor while keeping an eye on secret prisoner (as in, the X-Men don't know that he's a prisoner there) Sebastian Shaw. Namor propositions Emma, which I think just really leans into his characterization as an ass. Why can't the guy find a lady who isn't already in a relationship? |

5th series #8, Legacy #627. The kids continue fighting over X-Man while the team, simultaneously fighting the three Horsemen with little luck, realize that X-Man and the kids are trapped in Legion's mind. They send Bishop in and he gets the kids out, but X-Man takes over Legion's body and is less than pleased. |

Day 28 starts with what should be a major key but is probably more of a minor or middle key. Banshee had a rough run as far as I'm concerned, including getting killed by the newly-invented third Summers brother and then spending some time as kind of an undead dude. He plays the bad guy in this debut issue but it's revealed that he was being mind-controlled. |

#128 has the end of the fight against Proteus for a while as Colossus is able to kill/disperse him with his metal body. It also marks the end of our diversions from probably the marquee event in X-Men history, the Dark Phoenix saga. |

#228 is a frame story of Dazzler, now thought dead, by a friend that she rescued from a bum rap in the past. She was all set to help him on her own but I assume sales were kept in mind because Wolverine tagged along without an invitation. |

#428 the 'prelude' to the Draco arc. Set entirely in the past, it tells the story of how a shape-changing woman named Raven was married to a Baron Wagner but had an affair with Azazel (his first appearance). Things go south, especially when the baby is born with a tail and blue fur. Raven is run off as a demon and ditches the baby off a waterfall, where we hear a distinctive 'bamf'. |

Day 29 starts with a cover that I like, and the unfortunate departure of the Mimic. Scott, feelings some teenage angst, throws some eye blasts at a mountain and unknowingly wakes up the Super Adaptoid. The Mimic is still able to take out the whole rest of the team single-handed in training but is causing enough friction with the squad that Prof. X kicks him out of school. The Adaptoid makes it to the school and basically has the team beat with his Avengers-copied abilities when the Mimic comes back. He fights the Adaptoid to a standstill but they both short out when the Adaptoid tries to copy his copied powers. |

#129 is a big one, kicking off the Dark Phoenix arc properly with the introduction of the Hellfire Club. It's the first appearance of Emma Frost, who tries to beat the X-Men to recruit Kitty Pryde (in her first appearance), and the first shadowy appearances of Sebastian Shaw, Harry Leland, and Donald Pierce. The Club kidnaps Wolverine, Colossus, and Storm and Kitty sneaks along without a real plan of what to do. |

#229 is also an issue of first appearances. The (supposedly dead) X-Men fight the Reavers for the first time, meet Gateway, and also meet Jessan Hoan aka Tyger Tiger. It also has the first appearance of the Siege Perilous, which Roma gives to the team after the Reavers are sent through for judgment. |

#329 has Wolverine and Angel get in a ninja fight trying to find something to help Psylocke survive her injuries. Apparently there's something called Crimson Dawn blood that might help since Betsy is also a ninja. Dr. Strange shows up at the end so apparently we're in for some mumbo jumbo. |

#429 has Nightcrawler looking into his parentage, running off to Isla Des Demonas. Some of the X-Team follows, where they meet (even more first appearances today!) some of the Neyaphem led by Azazel. Meanwhile, Juggernaut heads to Canada with Northstar so that he can see Squidboy. Maybe the guy has a golden heart after all. |

5th series #10, Legacy #610. The Disassembled arc comes to an end. X-Man reveals that he is dying but has been boosting his power with a Life Seed, which now he just wants to use to help the world. He decides the best way to do that is to make a world where the X-Men don't belong, and suddenly all the X-Men there are gone. As the world pulls itself together from what X-Man had been doing, countries pass anti-mutant laws and start distributing an anti-mutant vaccine. Cyclops, thought dead from the Terrigen Mists during the Vs the Inhumans story, returns to the world. |

#530, in news we can relate to, has Cyclops put Utopia under quarantine due to the spread of a mutant flu. Also, Lobe and the U-Men create their own team of 'X-Men' using an inhaler that gives normal people custom mutant powers. |
