A pretty unimportant issue but I kinda like the cover. Good job, Walt Simonson. You know Dazzler worked really hard because she's doing it again on this newsstand copy.  |

Day 18 starts with part 2 of Magneto attempting to defeat the X-Men. It turns out that putting them in a hot air balloon didn't work! It also turns out that Magneto can do something called 'magnetic hypnotism'. He still doesn't win. |

#218 has Dazzler recover from her fight with Juggernaut, join with the rest of the team (currently just the folks on the cover), and then... try attacking the Juggernaut one at a time. Turns out that doesn't work but they're able to stop him when they work together as a team. In the meantime, Havok and Polaris have some adventures in New Mexico. |

At some point in the past, Emma removed the Void from the Sentry's mind but then had to stay in diamond form to keep him locked away. They succeed in getting Void out, so Emma can change back to normal, but it just goes into Cyclops instead. |

#19 is the first appearance of the Mimic, who is neat character. To answer the question on the cover, turns out he isn't a mutant. The Mimic didn't show up in the 'real' X-Men comics too much but an alternate version is all through the Exiles series; I like that version pretty well. |

#119 has part 2 of the battle with Moses Magnum. Banshee screams loud enough to destroy an island, which is.... pretty loud. There's also a shadowy sort-of first appearance of Mutant X, later known as Proteus. It isn't recognized as such on any labels though, I don't think. |

| I didn't subscribe/read from somewhere in the 320ish range to 490 or so while I was in school and stuff. Some of these I've gone back and read but some I've literally never seen before! Definitely a lot of changes and stories that went by the wayside. One kind of cool thing about the current reboot is they can dig up whoever they want and bring them back. | ||

#120 has the first appearance of most of Alpha Flight (not Vindicator, who was back in 109, not Puck, who shows up in Alpha Flight 1). The X-Men continue their world tour as they leave Japan but get stuck in Calgary when the Canadians come for Wolverine again. When Chris Claremont was at a convention a couple years ago I had to decide what to take and this is one that made the cut. I decided beforehand that a longbox (or two) full of X-Men and Wolverine books would be a bit much. |

#220 has Storm finally deciding that she wants her powers back (she lost them 30-40 issues earlier) and heading down to find Forge. This plot point didn't make a lot of sense to me; my understanding of Forge's power was that he could make whatever he wanted without understanding how it worked. So he should have been able to make a power-restoring gadget pretty easily if he made a power-removing gadget. I guess you have to suspend disbelief sometimes. |

#320 has the start to Legion Quest proper, as Legion has decided that his father (Prof. X) would have been better off if he didn't have to fight off Magneto all the time. So he makes a time travel portal, but when the X-Men investigate some of them are pulled back in time as well. |

| 5th series #1, Legacy #620. Uncanny took about a year and a half break between the 4th and 5th series, so I kinda indulged on some variants. The X-Men had been doing other stuff in other series, like X-Men Red, but this storyline was supposed to bring everyone back together for a big event. This issue starts to set the table by introducing a lot of weirdness, such as a vaccine for the mutant gene, lots of Madrox duplicates all around doing odd things, and Kitty being kidnapped along with a Senator and... Apocalypse. standard cover  Jen Bartel variant  Mark Brooks variants  David Marquez variant. I don't honestly remember getting this, so it probably came with one of the others (?)  Dave Cockrum wraparound variant   |
