Alex Ross Timeless Variants12166

I'm waiting.... (tapping fingers).

I am generally not a fan of variants.
I dabble here and there, but that's about it.

That said, has anyone seen the recently announced Alex Ross Timeless Variants coming out in the fall?
14 original Virgin cover variants of Marvel characters.
Admittedly I am a fan of Alex Ross; always have been, but when I see what he can do by hand it's just incredible to me.

Just one man's humble opinion and something to certainly look for if you feel the same about Mr. Ross.

It takes an extreme amount of dedication, practice, and patience to be a ā€œgoodā€ painter. Alex Ross is a master and an obviously astute student of the human form.

Most definitly...but on top of that...look at iron man's gold arm and helmet...silver surfer...the mirror-like surfaces...its absolutely incredible how he paints or draws that with such realism.

Sad thereā€™s no Black Widow. Iā€™d buy for sure. Love his work, & these are spectacular.

Worth buying along with the A covers? Going to read the new X of Swords event and it seems most titles offer a Ross variant. Have a pullbox set up at my LCS, so Iā€™ve ordered/preordered all of the Ross. Not sure if I should add A covers or not. Any suggestions?

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
I'm just getting the ones I like. I don't think they'll do anything in terms of long-term value, unless the issue itself happens to for some reason, so do what feels good.

I'm simply interested in obtaining ALL of the images of the characters.

Does anyone know if it is 32 or 33 separate unique covers (not interested in the sketch variants, or partial trade dress, or trade dress, or virgin or whatever the variant stuff that goes on today).

I only am collecting of all the characters.
I've seen 32 mentioned, but I also saw an article indicating 33 (perhaps an error in the article)?

I've got 32 on preorder, and I can't find a 33rd available. Unless maybe they're making the entire mural into a single cover? There's a video about Ross making that mural here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CM66kzN4qNM

For the gotta-have-them-all crowd, some places are offering full sets for pre-order. For example https://frankiescomics.com/products/alex-ross-timeless-variant-set

This is the part that bugs me.
I hear 32 like on the Frankies site (great price).

But then I read this and just hope it's an error on this fine online publication indicating 33 covers

Knowing me, I'll buy the 32 and the 33rd one will be out of reach by the time I even know there is one with all the shenanigans that go on behind the scenes. Or, perhaps the 33rd one comes only in a Virgin variant?

Agreed it is incredible work! Im thinking about submitting this book on my next CBCS order. Correct me if Im wrong, but I believe this is Alex Ross's first published art work from way back in 1990. I believe the book

@Nuffsaid111 that article you linked to has 33 issues listed, so hypothetically you'd be all set if you find them all. There might be something funny going on though because all of them say ROSS and/or TIMELESS except for the two Captain Marvel 18s. Those have different artists' names.

Yes, this is Rossā€™ 1st published comic art. šŸ‘šŸ¼

Iron Man is the 1 character that I feel Ross' style does not compliment. That's weird, because Iron Man is arguably my favorite Marvel character, and Alex Ross is my favorite artist.

Mr. Fantastic looks fairly distinguished. Not like the putz he is/was portrayed as in the comics. All book smarts and zero common sense.

They look good though. Not me buying all 32 good but maybe a few.

@00slim there is a Black Widow being shown on Frankie's site. Just buried in the other thumbnails

Appreciate the heads up! Iā€™ll grab one of those for sure. If Ross sells a yellow label 9.8 on his site, Iā€™m in for that.
