@gotham44

This is true. But I have been fortunate. It's the delivery folks that make sure my stuff doesnt get beat to hell given the sometimes crappy packing.

This is kind of something we do as well. We ship meds for military veterans. They throw like 250 small packs in a heavy duty type of garbage bag BUT for fedex its only condsidered 1 package. We deliver that package to the post office in 1 day and they deliver it with the regular mail. Cheaper to pay the postal service to deliver 250 pkgs than fedex.

@Bronte True. I also have some comic artists around here that use Fedex. Lee Weeks, Boris Vallejo, Scott Hanna, the Frazettas. Lots more artists. Get to go into their studios and stuff. Its awesome. Spoke to Lee Weeks for like 45 minutes the other day just about on comic stuff mostly.

That's been about a week now.

Just checked and the package I sent out two weeks ago tomorrow FINALLY showed up in the system as of this morning. Shows that it's out for delivery. Texas to California.

In my area, they're still signing for me if I'm home. If I'm not, they leave the slip. I haven't signed for anything in months. FedEx has been the same.

@Studley_Dudley Over at FedEx Express we were told that no one but the driver can touch out powerpad. We are to only sign IN FRONT of the customer. We can't just leave a signature required pacakge if they aren't home. I know some drivers do though

lately i have had a few UPS packages shipped to customers where ups use “driver release” and just leave the packages unsecured.

@gotham44 The few Fedex packages I've had have been signed for in front of me. If I know I won't be home, I reroute FedEx to a Kinkos/FedEx Office and pick it up later.

Looks like shipping is still unpredictable everywhere. Yesterday I received a comic that was shipped from Mexico on May 11th. Still waiting on 2 boxes from MCS, one shipped June 17th and the other shipped June 10th. But today (Friday) I recieved a priority envelope that was shipped across the country on Wednesday by @Briangreensnips. Go figure.

Yes, Texas seems to be doing better now. My previous weekly checks from them had been coming Friday or Saturday, 10 days after being mailed. But my last one came on time, Monday, only five days (counting the weekend) after being mailed.

The most recent boxes I shipped to MCS have also arrived without delay, while previously (April, May) they took an extra week or so.

I tried UPS to send some packages. Supposed to be delivered on 7/1. "Mechanical delay" has occurred. Sometimes I feel like it would be easier for me to hand-deliver everything myself.

I placed two separate orders from Midtown Comics on 6-17 and 6-18. I received one of the packages on July 10th but I have yet to receive the other that was mailed through UPS mail innovations which will transfer the package to my the local USPS for delivery. I called UPS and they stated USPS has the package. I called USPS and they stated UPS still has the package and they are waiting for the shipment. I'm assuming the package is lost since my other deliveries from both Midtown and MCS that both use UPS mail innovations have arrived safely and in a more timely manner. Hopefully Midtown will clear things up but I do hate how the package has to change hands between so many shippers.

Now that I look at what I ordered it all seems like crap anyway. I really wish I didn't make so many purchases while heavily medicated.

I was supposed to receive a FedEx package from CBCS in Texas today and a USPS Priority Mail package from Michigan. Neither arrived today, and both are now supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

If you received a package from CBCS recently, is FedEx still requiring signatures?

After calling USPS and UPS yesterday my package has mysteriously appeared and is supposed to be delivered today. I'm assuming they are just extremely backed up at the moment and I'm just happy it hasn't been lost.

The FedEx package arrived yesterday afternoon. The driver did not ask for my signature. The package from MI made it to MA yesterday, but the new delivery date is “unavailable.”

Yes, UPS is being used by USPS to deliver bulk packages to them. I've had 3 lost in the month of June that were tracked to USPS but never delivered. USPS told me that the UPS manifests are flawed showing items sent to them that were never on the truck. A real drag to deal with because dealers won't believe you. I had to get a letter from USPS to send one guy and even then he was very reluctant to refund me.

You can sign up for Informed Delivery for USPS, which sends you a daily scan of every piece of mail to be delivered that day and a list of packages coming as well. Yesterday I got an email showing 3 letters and 2 packages - no mail every came . . .

Tracking my package again this morning, still in limbo "Package Acceptance Pending"! So this will be day 6 with no movement on my package & the distance is only 102 miles from my location.

Yeah, USPS has been spotty at best. The red flag that gets my anxiety up is when you're tracking something, and all you get is "Arriving On Time," which guarantees that no, it's not.

Yeah, I got my first taste of this recently. Bought a Vampirella variant from MCS with plenty of time to get it, and send it out for the CBCS Mail-In Signing. They said it shipped on July 1, but UPS didn't do ANYTHING with it until the 8th. I got it this past Friday, on the day of the signing deadline. I sent some others in already, so I'm not totally out, but this was the one I really wanted signed. Oh well, next time I supposed.
