| The good news, I got 23 books packed up and shipped off today for slabbing at CBCS. The bad news, even with the discount the total cost was 25% of insured value, so no heavy hitters in the group. I wouldn't have even been able to justify slabbing these books without the discount. With a little luck 2-3 9.8's could change all that. At least I have some results to look forward to and speculate on in the meantime. Here's what I got, won't jinx myself by trying to predict any 9.8's but I will try to predict the low-end of the grade range: 9.4+ Albedo #3 (2 copies) Amazing Spider-man 161, 168 and Annual 16 Batman 423 and 428 Daredevil 181 (3 copies) Dark Horse Present 10 (1st Masque) Legion Super Heroes 298 Micronauts 1 Thor 337 X-men 140 8.5-9.2ish DC Presents 47 X-men 129 Pence copy Marvel Spotlight 28 Swamp Thing 7 (signature verification needed) 5.0-7.5 X-men 95 Giant-Size Spider-man 4 (3 copies) I sure hope they survive shipping. | I don't have grade predictions, and they're all press-screened anyway, but I sent (mostly) a bunch of X books. I went with the older ones for the discount since the membership coupons aren't as good for old but less expensive books. I guess I'll guess grades anyway. You sucked me in. | I sent in five books for grading at the end of April under the previous SUPPORT THE HOBBY promotion. They included: X-Men #1 (1.0/1.5) X-Men #71 (9.0/9.2) Avengers #13 (7.5/8.5) Avengers #24 (9.0/9.2) and a Modern for VSP (9.4/9.6) They should be done this week, I hope. All except the VSP were in grading last week. |

| @HarrisonMade They definitely seem overdue unless they were being pressed. Working through a third party can be frustrating. Do you know if the LCS is open and operating at the moment? Perhaps the books have been received but the LCS isn’t operating? Or perhaps the LCS included others’ pressing books on the same order. Or maybe he hasn’t sent it in yet or sent it in later. | ||

Just got a few books back. Mostly to try out a new presser on the Pokémon and the Iron Man. Both definitely look better than they did but they still had some minor issues that could probably be pressed out.   As far as I can tell this is the first comic book appearance of Ash/Pikachu/Pokémon in the United States. There is a preview of this book that might have been released a few days prior but that depends on your stance on previews as first appearance. Also, since the label doesn't state otherwise, I'm assuming/hoping this is a first print (of 16!)  |

@CatCovers So much for it being in "rare cases" as you had it on 8/8. Do you recall if they were graded a 9 or above and were they issues you had pressed? Looking to see if pressing made it look good but did not get a true bump up.  |
