Do you put them in the box all facing one direction? (Back to front) or do you put them in the box back to back-cover to cover? Like this- all facing forward ![]() Or like this- Back to back-cover to cover ![]() |

@HulkSmash less chance of creating a spine roll if you alternate comics, but I'm too lazy, mine are all in the same direction

@Batman66 I alternate them for that very reason. Just curious what others do.

@HulkSmash I don't stuff the boxes and less chance with backer boards, again too lazy to alternate them. I don't have them organized, it's whatever's in the box so searching for a book is bad enough

Not alternating; once boarded, spine rolls are generally eliminated. Sometimes i’ll turn around a few by the box handle so no box pressure on the face of a book, but only if box is full. Almost all boxes organized by subject, if not enough of a title to fill.

I alternated them when I had them in regular poly bags and boards. Since I've switched everything over to Mylites and fullbacks, it's front to back now. I'm not saying those will prevent spine roll, I was lazy when putting them into boxes. I also swapped out long boxes for short. I can't deal with that long box stuff anymore.

@cyrano0521 I do the same. Also as a way to avoid light coming in through the handholds onto the front cover.

Am I doing it right?![]() LOL j/k I do the front to back. Some of my dreck would be improved by spine rolls. |

Short boxes. Mostly Mylites and fullbacks. Comics front to back all facing the same way. I usually put a piece of cardboard at each end of the box to eliminate pressure from the box handle. Some boxes packed rather tight, others very loose.

I actually use old boxes that held motor oil jugs. I make sure they are clean (no oil stains). But they are very sturdy, just wide enough for golden age comics and have handles. They are a bit tall, but that's fine with me. My brother owns an auto parts store. Our parents started it and both him and I went in as partners to buy it from them. Then we realized that we made better brothers than partners and I sold out to him. Anyways, I get them from him and they are good enough for my unbagged dreck comics. I typically get the Carquest oil boxes that hold 3, 5 quart jugs of oil. |

I’m in the process of sorting through my comics while changing out the long boxes for short ones. I used to have them facing the same way but as I go through I’m putting them face to face.

I have them face the same way. I find it easier when I'm sorting the comics.
