Adventure Comics #352, I read the original when it came out and missed the next issue which was part 2 of the story. I always knew what happened but did not acquire that book until sometime in the mid 1980's about 20 years later! One of the best stories Jim Shooter ever wrote and I never tire of reading it.

I too knew what had happened, as I had read Adventure #357 ("The Ghost of Ferro Lad" )... but I had never actually read #352 or #353 until a few years ago, when I got back into comics (and bought the Showcase volume and then the issues themselves). You're so right, what a memorable story by Shooter -- a real classic!

@Maritimer and @ShallaBal - As you can see from my copies of #352 and #353, as a kid I loved to read and re-read those comics. It was the first story I can remember where a "real" superhero died. His twin brother then turns up in the next issue, set in the future's future.
