Question how much of a hit do you get for Erasure marks on a comic ?
Referring to a book that also has a small stain on the back cover just above la salle

Erasure marks are bad; in a colored area they cannot be fixed without color touch. Minor stain, if it’s surface only, could be two or four tenths. Depends on the grading company’s deduction scale.

A 9.4 with a stain on the back is a reason to count your blessings.

Exactly my thoughts. I think as the stain is very small the book wasn't hit harder in grade.

Is the mark you speak of above the E in LA SALLE? It seems weird to me it would be darker than the rest of the book if it was an eraser.

I think that's the stain.

Ah my fault, grader has a better eye than eye do. I can’t 👀 them in the picture.

You probably can't see the erasure marks in the scan. They would probably stand out when the book is held at an angle to the light.

can you erase....erasure marks??

@KatKomics They appear on the coloured part of the comic. The colour is removed due to erasing something. If the white part was erased then the gloss can be removed. I'm not sure if gloss removal generates a grade hit.

They can be eliminated, if they haven't removed color or gloss.

I have seen books that were erased so poorly, that paper was removed by erasing too hard. In certain cases, you can bring back the gloss using non-restorative techniques.

Usually it is aggressive erasure that will get hit as it will remove gloss and you can see the "streaking".
