7.0 to 7.5 - there are several spine ticks with color breaks up and down the spine, front and back. You have a small crease and a little folding on the bottom right corner. Also looks like maybe some foxing on the bottom of your interior pages. Don't slab - if you're looking to sell, there'll be someone looking for a low grade copy and you'll get well above what you paid for it (assuming you paid cover price).

It's got a lot of color breaking spine stresses. Back cover has color rubbing. Bottom right front covers corner has a fold. Rear covers top corner has a fold. Both front and rear covers have micro scratches only noticable in correct lighting. Corners are blunted/rounded.

I'm going to have to say 7.0

Are you sending it in?

The cover colors are very striking. Especially since it's not uncommon to find this cover with less brilliance due to the printers running low on ink. This cover seems to belong with the party that got printed early.

I would slab it even at a 7.0/7.5 for conservation. Its a damn good looking book; high gloss, deep colors. May even get that “check mark” grade.

PS. Lmk if want to sell.

@Pre_Coder I was not aware of the ink running low thing, thank you for that! The colors are quite deep on this book.

@HulkSmash Much appreciated! I'm debating on sending it in. I may sell as I'm not too attached to the book per se but not sure what a 7.0/7.5 fetches these days. I'll need to check GoCollect and eBay sales.

IMO, if this book grades 7.5 or below, it will most PROBABLY (dare I say CERTAINLY) garnish the "check mark".

If your plan is to sell the book on Ebay, you'll likely get more for the book non certified. You can check completed Ebay sales for books in the 7.0-9.0 range raw selling very strong. When you add all the fee's associated with slabbing and shipping. Not much upside unless it was 9.2 or higher.

I think I'm in agreement with you. I'm interested in knowing if generally that's a good thing or not? I've never owned a book with the checkmark. Do collectors avoid them? Do they proceed with caution? Not care at all?

@GAC there’s a 7.0 CGC SIG SERIES on ebay at $165 right now. GoCollect FMV $220

I would consider the “check mark” a plus. If i could buy this book at a 7.5 or i could the same book at a 7.5 that deserves recognition for the fact that it looks/displays better than the given grade; ill go with the “check mark”.

Maybe I should’ve looked on my Mac instead of my phone. It didn’t look that bad on my little screen, but I didn’t zoom in. Can’t wait to relook one a little bit.

I can't think of any reason why the "check mark" would be avoided, It simply means the book presents nicer than the actual grade. And that's probably at arm's length.

I have a CGC 8.0 that looks the same or worse, so I would be a bit more optimistic than the crowd so far.
