If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. | xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
You can also add fast press, although that might be pricey with 50 books.

I sent in books at a con July 2020. How long should it take to be received in the dashboard? And if it's 8 months now for pressing how much can be shaved off since this is a new submission? I realize the second question may not be answerable.

@Bobsaget I've never submitted at a con but my books were delivered by Fedex to CBCS on Tuesday and they were marked in the system as received by the end of the business day Thursday. I don't think there's been an official update to the pressing turnaround times.

@enaz13 Pressing never shut down due to Covid so they only closed briefly during the move. @agamoto People are waiting closer to 10 months (they are currently on books received October/November of last year). I would not recommend sending books in to CBCS pressing at this time. They are taking steps to improve and hopefully get turnaround times down to a reasonable level in about two months. I suggest waiting until then to see if turnaround times improve. @Bobsaget Submissions received at a convention could take a week or more to appear on your dashboard depending on how busy they are. Regardless of when they appear however, for purposes of calculating your turnaround time they are backdated to the Wednesday after the end of the convention. I wouldn’t count on “new submissions” being much quicker in regards to pressing. As I mentioned above, they are currently on books from October/November so there are a lot of people still ahead of you. |

@Bobsaget CBCS was at a con in July? Or did you turn them in to a dealer?

@xkonk yes they were in Huntsville Alabama July 18&19 and that's when I gave them my books. Still not in dashboard hopefully next week they'll show up.

It does seem a little long to not be in your dashboard yet but not ridiculously long. Hopefully whoever was manning the booth didn't come down with con crud or something.

I submitted some books to CFP per dielinfinite's recommendation. Looks like they're pressing books received the first week of June. Mine arrived first week of July. Hopefully they get to my order soon, but it certainly seems better than the 9+ month backlog with CBCS. But I'll reserve judgement until my books come back.

Does anyone know any details of the operation? How many books can be pressed at one time, how long does it take to press one book, things like that?

@DavidM Thanks, I've seen that before. I was wondering specifically about the CBCS set-up. I heard they were expanding. I love CBCS but it's getting very frustrating. My stuff has been sitting there since December and the status is still "Processing". I know there are a lot of people who have items there longer than me, I would imagine they feel the same.

@OGJackster I feel your pain. I am in the same boat as you. My order has been there since the end of December. Six books with VSP, pressing and grading. I had hoped to get them back by now but am happy they will get the yellow label. Still hard to wait so long.

While CBCS could do a better job advertising the delays in pressing when submitting. I have had an overall positive experience with them on multiple books pressed. They have made some sad books very presentable and the value has more than paid for itself. Yes, the wait is long, but I have faith in their ability, and last month submitted more books for pressing. Yes, I know I'm going to wait even with fast pressing. But I know I will be happy with results. Personally I'll wait to have my stuff done correctly. |

I have every confidance that the quality of the work will be very high when I eventually receive my order. However, CBCS needs to be held accountable for absurd turnaround times of NINE MONTHS! I would never have submitted comics for pressing if I had any idea it would be like that. I believe if I ordered a Learjet or a 100 ft yacht, I would receive it in a shorter time. CBCS should have an "all hands on deck" and "no cost too high" policy, to get this disaster solved.

@Donnied - I agree with you my friend. The fact is that there #1 competitor is turning around books close to 4 months earlier then they are. If they want to gain share, then they are going to have to figure this one out. I think the longest I have ever waited for CGC books was 6 months which includes pressing. This has been almost 10 months with no end in site. Not sure if it is covid related but there has to be a better way. I have a ton of books to send out but am hesitant to send right now until the turnaround time drop.

I have never heard of CBCS losing a book..ever. While I understand the need of wanting to see your books on your dash (I would too, for sure), I wouldn't "worry" about not seeing them. Certainly email customer service about it but don't lose sleep over this. Your books are there I'm sure.

Maybe I'm just an old geezer, but in my day, people "requested" help or "asked" for advice. Demanding stuff sounds like an entitled little kid. But to answer the question, send an email to customer service. customerservice@cbcscomics.com or call them. |
