@flanders I'm thinking by the end of the weekend @SteveRicketts will modify the title of the thread to: "Pressing Update...General Update, not Specific Update".

Can grease pencil be removed from comic covers as part of the clean and press process?

Ditto. I have a detective 225 that has, I think, a grease pencil mark on it.

@MrNotSoNice In grading.

@timberghost In grading.

@PhantomStranger271 We haven't started April yet.

@Reelgee Not back from the signing yet, but your order will be in with the April orders when it gets here.

@GeekStoxx In slab.

Grease pencil is not usually removed because it doesn't typically affect the grade of the book. Grease pencil that has been on a cover for a long time will usually leave a light stain. If there is a stain, it will impact the grade, which is why I usually opt to leave the grease pencil alone. Can it be removed? In some cases, yes. Should it be removed? In most cases, no.

It amazes me on how efficient you are... I hope one day I can shake your hands and thank you personally! Thank you thank you thank you for your updates.

Thanks also for the heads up on the grease pencil... it seems I’ll have to send the book in that way for slabbing.

Hi @SteveRicketts, is it possible to get 1 book from my order, 20-46F07A4, expediate? Currently the order is in the grading queue but not sure if grading has started. I know you are swamped but I thought I would ask. I called customer service but I don't think he really knows.

Newbie here. So to be clear - CBCS is currently pressing books from August 2020? So anything submitted in March of 2021 is "approximately " how far from pressing?

@DarylCC higher up in the thread (11 days ago) they said they had a couple more weeks of March to do before getting to April orders. That assumes no fast press or faster tier like a 2-Day Modern. So no, they are well past pressing August orders. If your order was received in Dallas in March it sounds like they'll be pressing it soon.

@DarylCC

if you sent though CBCS Canada we may be a bit behind - can't remember when the clock starts for us - might have been April since it takes a while for our books to make it to Dallas

Great answer and thank you. I submitted my order the last week of March (I think the 28th), so I was a bit confused as if my order counted as a March or an April order. I suppose it's an April order since Steve said they hadn't started April orders yet.

I'm glad they're updated estimated turnaround times. Modern has changed from 16 to 17 weeks. I still expect my order delivered on July 6th to be ready by mid November.

If I had an expensive modern I planned on selling I would definitely choose the 2 day modern option.

I wish there was a way to update the CBCS Canada orders from the submitted date to the received date some like my March order were only 5 or 6 weeks difference but my May one sounds like it still isn't there?

More just to set expectations

So if getting both press and grade, would it be those 2 times combined?

Yowza! So if I did the math right, I'm not getting mine until April of next year? I didn't realize it was that long, I was going by the TAT's listed on the pricing page. Lesson learned

I'm in the same boat. I signed up for both grading and pressing and since my order arrived on April 5th (102 days since then), my order should be done in December (I'm guessing.)

@Dawnstar - My guess is that you will see in Jan or Feb, barring something extraordinary like Texas Freeze or Pandemic shutdown. you will see in Jan or Feb.
