CBCS Pressing Update11521

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
My order received on Dec 29th just went to grading. It's a 2-Day and a Rapid with pressing, so the faster-tier pressing seems on time.

my press broke!! while I wait to get another I'm going to submit a small order for pressing to see how the pros do. Is fast pass pressing worth doing at this point? TAT?

If time is money then fast press. If you can wait, I think it is in line with competition norms now.

This is how I decide about fast press/fast pass any time I send an order.

Pressing TATs are somewhere in the 12-16 week range, I think.

I got an update on my order that went into pressing on the 11th. I had one quickstream book in there; that one went into grading today. I didn't get an update about the rest of the order. Pretty quick TAT on that one though.

Edit: wasn't thinking fully on this one. It's an order from the October promotion, so it was certainly due to be through pressing by now. Being in the grading process is fast though, and I put fast pass on the other books with it so they'll hopefully catch up on that part of the process.

I watched a video on Youtube that seems to have confused me. Is Press Fast Pass cutting the TAT shorted with the same quality of cleaning and pressing? Or, is it speeding up the process by limiting how much pressing and cleaning is done to the book?

You're confusing our Fast Pass service with "Quick Press" that is offered by CGC. When you submit a book to us with Fast Pass, it gets the same quality of service, just with a shorter turnaround time.

Just an update. Aside from two extremely large orders we received at the end of the month, all pressing orders received in the month of October are completed and in the grading room.

supposed to see them when your books have actually shipped.

sadly I think my Aug order has been in shipping for 2 or 3 weeks now (and not through the CBCS Canada option for which that would be normal!)

What defines as a really large order?

@SteveRicketts Thanks for the update Steve. I dropped my books off at the end of October for the PRESSING20 Promo. My account still says processing. Will it say anything like "Books in Pressing" or does it always say Processing even in Pressing?

My Invoice Number: 20-3C605A4

Thanks so much.

@rdowdy95 Processing isn't a status. It says processing until the order ships. If you click the invoice number is will give a more detailed status by the individual tiers. I think you'll see a status change when one of the graders starts grading your order.

Thanks @SteveRicketts for the information. I clicked on it and it still just says received. I dropped them off at CBCS HQ on October 30th as a part of the PRESSING20 Event. There was 39 books in my order. Would that be one of the 2 extremely large orders? I'm not sure. I just hope they are going to be pressed soon or atleast say in the pressing room awaiting a press. My understanding was the PRESSING20 Books would get priority?

@SteveRicketts Hi Steve, can you please clear up timescales on pressing for me. I submitted for the promotion of 12 week pressing (stupidly I thought this was 12 weeks complete, rather than 12 weeks to potentially press before progressing).

My 5 books (20-3D4AE13) were received on 9th November and went into press on 24th November (which is partly what led me to believe they'd be 12 weeks and back with me but this was my error). They have since sat back in billing/received status.

What actually is the 12 weeks period? Is it 12 weeks to completely finish pressing from the date of receipt or 12 weeks to enter into the pressing area (which mine may have just been lucky to enter so quickly). If they did enter the pressing floor on the 24th Id expect 5 books to only take a couple of days max (am I unrealistic?) before they could then begin their verification (1 week) and grading (8 weeks).

kind regards

Can you check my order number. I dropped these off with a guy that had glasses on. I don't remember the guys name. I also included my check in the box of books as payment.

My Invoice Number: 20-3C605A4

They were a part of the PRESSING20 event. Can someone at CBCS please give me a status. I am thinking my books maybe got misplaced somewhere because they still say received when it's been over 3 Months, 1.5 Weeks. I handed them directly to one of your employees and I stood there as he went over all my books with me that I was dropping off.

Just a little information on my order would place my mind at ease.

Thanks so much.

@rdowdy95 Your order is in the grading room. The status on it will update when they start working on it.

@rtdcomics Your order will be a few more weeks before they're completed in pressing.

Hello,

Quick question about pressing for submissions sent to Oakville Office.
Is it done onsite? Or do they send it out?

Thanks in advance!

nothing is done in Canada..all our books are sent to the Dallas office for pressing and grading, then sent back to Oakville and then back to us through FedEx or Canada Post.

Just wondering if pressing is still moving along or if it is all bunged up because of the weather down there. I have an order that was rec'd on Nov. 6th. Based on the last update, if things are moving along, it should be in pressing soonish?
Post 677 IP   flag post
CBCS Pressing SteveRicketts private msg quote post Address this user
Yes, pressing is still rolling along. Everything received in October has been pressed. November orders are starting to move into grading now and should all be there over the next few weeks.

The turnaround time in pressing is improving every week. For standard tier orders received today, you can expect about a 10 to 11 week turnaround.

It took a while to get over the mountain of backlog, but we are finally getting it under control. We are certainly going to keep working to make it even better than it is now.

@SteveRicketts received e-mail saying my books have moved into the pressing area...is this the start of the 10 to 11 week turnaround or does that start at another stage/step in the process?

@KatKomics Your orders were not re eived until early November. If they're not already in grading, they will be over the next week or two.

I have no idea what the specific internal email triggers are, nor what email gets sent when. I used to know, but they've been changed over the last year or so.
