Been working on the MAX series of Punisher. I picked up nearly every issue from Half Price Books in one haul😊 Mostly really good. I’ve enjoyed it so far and some of Tim Bradstreet’s cover work has impressed me.

Isn't there supposed to be another Barracuda Punisher run soon?

Some of the best comics I ever read. Have them all. Ennis is fantastic. The Slavers and Valley Forge arcs are my favorite. Also read the lastest Punisher Ennis arc, Soviet. Really good. Need the Punisher Max back.

They delayed it becuase of the BS with the Punisher and the cops using the symbol. According to what I found online, it is stated the first issue will come out in December, but I don't know if that is set in stone.

@Stopher999 Yes The Slavers was very good; I enjoyed Kitchen Irish as well. Barracuda had its moments. Just finished The Man of Stone so ~30 more issues to go.

Many of the comic books that we deeply enjoyed as a kid do not hold up well. Maybe because our imagination is more wide-open when we are younger? Or maybe just because they are written for a younger audience?

It was really more that those books were before there was a sequel, much less trilogy.

Some of the adventures are really silly and Luke and Leia flirting and pining for each other is much weirder in hindsight.

Not really anyone’s fault, but it’s a glimpse into another time.

I read the TMNT the last ronin from a link in the ronin thread. It was pretty good. 1st book I comic i have read cover to cover in decades. (Yes I bought multiple copies so I did support the book, but I'd destroy them if I tried to read physical copies).

I anxiously await the remaining books in the series.

Just wrapped up the original Dark Horse Aliens series. I really enjoyed this one though it was a bit slow to get going. The last few issues of the book are really good and I liked the direction they went with, I just think they could’ve gotten there faster. Definitely more focused on the corporate and industrial culture on Earth than the films ever did.

It is very interesting reading this knowing the direction the films would take. I really liked how another of the Space Jockey’s species made an appearance. Again it is interesting to see how it was employed before the films would address them more directly

@HeinzDad agree! Awesome way to start! Much higher quality comic in general than anything Marvel is putting out. Really leaves you wanting more! Can’t wait for issue 2!

@HeinzDad @Firehawk2069 I'll be reading mine shortly. My LCS described it and it sounded cool, and I guess I should read something by Cates at some point.

@HeinzDad - I read that one about a week or two ago. Quick, but enjoyable read. Reminded me of Eclipse's Tales of Terror and Pacific's Twisted Tales from the 1980's. Might have to get the TPB to see what happens next.

Read Crossover; it seems promising. I'm not as sold on We Only Find Them When They're Dead, so I might switch out my random non-pull pickup.

Couple guys at the LCS insisted that I should read The Black Monday Murders by Hickman and Kill or be Killed by Brubaker. Just read the first 5 pages of Black Monday Murders and I'm pretty sure that's going to be a good fit for me.

I just finished Volume 1 of The Black Monday Murders. It's not for everyone, but some people will absolutely love it they way I did. Most of the setup is quickly revealed, I don't think I spoil anything with a little description, but you can stop here if you have plans to read it already. The title probably doesn't do it justice, it's not so much about a murder mystery. It dives deeply into the idea that a few uber-wealthy families (think Rothschilds) run all the financial institutions and therefor run the world. These families are the only ones who are truly awake, the rest of us are unwitting slaves to their causes. They control our information and therefore our perceptions of reality.
These families accumulate wealth purely for the purpose of accumulating and maintaining control over the world. They come by their power through a relationship with God Mammon, the god of greed and covetousness. These families owe Mammon a debt and he occasionally collects his due. We learn in the first few pages that stock market crashes are part of Mammon collecting his due, and they coincide with human sacrifice of members of the privileged families.

Just read volume one of Fables.

Also Strange Academy 3 and X-Men 13 and 14.

Fables was really good.

I’m really enjoying SA, but it is taking time to pick up, I think.

Hickmans X-Men- I’m still not sure how I feel about it? The art is great, but I’m just not pulled in by this storyline.

I really want to like this, but I may drop it soon.

First series, 1982ish? That's basically my introduction to comic book collecting right there. My first "pull list" comic book would have been X-men 148 or 149. The ones where Kitty Pride has some goofy Goodwill looking costume with roller skates. At the time I was 12 and didn't realize there was anything unusual about that costume.
