@KCBatmanFan yeah, I'm debating on getting it graded/selling it in the shop(even though its VG- at best, it's probably a GD/GD+) or keeping it.

I am going to do just like someone else and comment on the super stars of magic book...vastly under-appreciated Zatanna , and her first solo appearance in her own book

I appreciate the offer, but I'm on COVID Budget Watch with the wife on Furlough right now. Will likely add it to my wish list and look for a copy when all of this (hopefully) blows over.

Okay my turn....a pair of bullets today with a huge shout out to Batman 66 for all his time, patience and help getting them Sterankoed, witnessed, graded and sent to me. Thanks err Batman!
Seqeuntial serial numbers for identical grade books signed by the same artist in the same spot...the lower serial has white to off whites and the other has off whites , other than that I believe they are identical.
The final image is my first, or holder copy

got these back today also. The hulk stayed the same grade, fury 1 dropped from a 9,0, i was disappointed with the X-men, thought it was better than a 7.0.

@esaravo thanks Ed, I don't, check with gac, I know he had one for sale
@EbaySeller thought it was a great way to cover the label. Eventually I will crack it and send it in to get officially graded, but I've got more important things I want to do first

Aha, I was trying to figure out the deal with that label. Guess I didn't think of the most obvious explanation.

Snagged me another pretty nice Jack Kirby FF. Ive just been picking out some of the cooler covers and going for those issues.... AND Doom is definitely cool

and here's the real beauty of these raw books........ You can read it and see Kirby's legendary art work inside

Kirby was never at a loss for ACTION! and of coarse Stan Lee was never at a loss for words!

Is it me.. or did Sue always seem to be in great peril and in need of rescue?

"Don't mind me, my Darling!" "Get Him!" Now that's classic stuff right there. I was intoxicated, but I swear I heard the ole Lady yell this in a Bar fight one night.

And of coarse the Jack Kirby splash page....... it speaks for itself

Happy Collecting!
John

If only @Batman66 were nefarious enough to take advantage of the opportunity and switch your 8.5 with his 7.0. Then you would have triplets! Some countries believe triple 7's to be good luck.

As he said..he handled the dual 7's for me but the 8.5 cost me a.small fortune. Most I paid for a book since the eighties ..it came out of a MCS auction a few years back and one in the same grade signed by Steranko hasn't seemingly changed hands since

It is indeed a cool book. Im looking at a copy of #47

I just love the way Kirby gets all of those different perspectives in! From the Stretching of Reed, to the Overwhelming plight and strength of Ben Grimm, all surrounded by Johnny's blazing arc of fire!

Just a Super cool cover! Oh! but of coarse there's Sue hanging in great peril again!

This is a sample pic I stole from MCS, The book Im looking at is slabbed, which I will crack it out if I pull the trigger on it.

Happy Collecting

I generally have never cared for the Fantastic Four as a group. I like the characters, but the writing always sucked when I was a kid. But people have constantly told me that the early FF stories were good. So when Ed posted a FF #84 for sale, I decided to do a little digging because I've always loved that Dr. Doom cover.

So I went to MCS and learned 2 things about that comic. First off, it started a four comic story arc that had Dr. Doom (who has always been in my top 10 Marvel villains) and that the four comics were reprinted in the Marvel's Greatest Comics title. I found all 4 MGC books at MCS at about $2 a piece for fine copies. I also found a copy of a comic that caught my eye from our weekly cover contest. I got these from MCS today. I look forward to reading them.

@Jesse_O - That's some great reading material for your birthday, Jesse! I have no idea how Kirby was able to create all those amazing science fiction instruments and devices, and look at all the incredible details he put into almost every panel! It blows my mind to think about how much effort and work he put forth during that time period.
