It means CBCS will scan an image of the book after it has been graded and include it on the Grader’s Notes like so

@BrashSmurf well, now you won't be able to say "Scooby Doo, where are you?"

Well, he will until it's imaged.

So I don't remember electing for this option. Maybe I did it and didn't realize it. I think it looks good. I don't have a worthwhile scanner for slabs. However, I don't know if I could pay for every book. Maybe the really nice ones or big keys.

@Studley_Dudley CBCS does sometimes add on the option free of charge so they can use the book on their Featured Comics page

Five dollars is steep for what is essentially just a picture/scan of the slab. I bet ten times as many would add it on, though, if it was only $1 per comic. Surely, it isn't hard to do?

@Tedsaid - They take a picture of the slab. So there really isn’t a cost to take a digital picture, but someone needs to get the book, take it out of its bag, place it under the camera, and then upload the image. I had two books imaged for free under the Featured Comics section. I agree that if it was a buck or two, I would be interested in getting it for more books. Maybe CBCS could include this feature on 2-day Moderns, Quickstream, and Rapid tiers for free with a paid membership as a perk. What do you say to that, SB?

I don't believe this....and I know you don't care that I don't believe this. GAC private msg quote post Address this user
I would get every book I got graded imaged if it cost $2 or less but it's probably not worth it to CBCS to do it for less than $5.

In my younger days, I worked night shift at a turkey processing plant. I worked there for about three years. Towards the end, I was a "floater". I knew every job in our area and I went wherever they needed help. Most nights, I jumped from area to area depending on where they needed me most. I don't know why, but I expect that CBCS has someone like that and that he/she is in charge of imaging.

The reason I brought that up, is because if CBCS were to make it $2 or less an image, or automatic on the higher tiers, that workload would increase. I doubt it would warrant a full time position, but it would increase someone's job and MAYBE increase TATs. It would also mean that those books get handled more and the risk of damaging a comic increases. These are all just thoughts that are in my brain on this subject.

I admit, I am bored tonight and just throwing this out there. I doubt anything will change for imaging, but you never know.

Personally, I would love it if you could just upload your own image to the grader's notes but then I imagine CBCS would want to verify that the image uploaded matches the Grader's Notes and that would require someone to review and approve images or develop/license software to recognize the serial number on each image uploaded

When I was 18 I worked at a chicken processing plant for a day. I still remember that day, and not because it was a good experience.
