My wife got an email today saying that Netflix account expired and needed payment. I said don't respond, the timing is way to suspicious, and it was. So with everyone bunkering down, the question is what are you going to do now (other than online forums)? No sports programming, what are you going to watch so that 24 hour news channels don't turn you into the Unabomber? Anyone got plans to watch some programming you've been considering? Plans to read a book or TPB you've been thinking about? Any plans to do something you wouldn't normally get to do?

Fortunately I am still working my 55-60 hrs per week, at least for now. If it ever happened that I had a large block of time in front of me I would definitely dig deep into the archives, probably revisit some comics that I really enjoyed but haven’t revisited in a decade or two. I am behind on my R. A. Salvatore reading by a couple of novels. I would definitely catch up on that. As for TV, I know what you mean about too much cable news. I like to keep up but I am getting burned out hearing about the virus. Right now I am enjoying Ripper Street on Netflix, Black Sails on Hulu. I bought the digital complete series of Game of Thrones and am currently working my way through them for the second time. I also enjoy ‘80s wrestling. I have a comprehensive dvd collection plus WWE Network. Oh, and classic Doctor Who (70s and ‘80s)! I would also find time to dust off the old Sega Genesis and have some fun with that.

I get those stupid emails from idiots saying this and that. Never click on the link because you can be compromised. Go directly to your mobile app and check within the account itself. Set up a two-step authentication for any apps that allow you to. Hackers are at their worse right now with the virus trackers. They are using it to spread malwares to infect unsuspected people’s computers. My wife works in cyber security and she said there’s a huge spike of hackers are trying to infiltrate their network.

As far as what I am going to do: we have a raspberry pi with enough entertainment to keep us busy for years and years and years.

LOL, it was when we got the email. Now that I wrote this post it's paused for payment, looks like it was just coincidence and our 12 month prepayment actually did run out the day a National Emergency was announced. It wasn't a scam, I'm just not as clever as I thought.

I work two jobs and maintain about 60 hours a week, but any free time I have now will be preparing for a show that may/may not happen in april for the local gem and mineral group.

If I run out of other adventures I have several dinosaur bones I could begin restoring, or repairing and cleaning as time allows.

I also make it a point to spend at least half an hour daily with my Grimlock and Ziva on general principles.

Finally , I make it a rule to buy a package of fullbacks and mylite 2's every payday, so I have some stockpiled and can continue removing old bags and boards and replacing, as I sort and remove etc. Forty long boxes requires some serious cash to redo and lots of ...time!

I have DC Universe and had sometime a little bit ago so I decided to read the first Action Comics books. Since I can’t afford to buy them all I decided to go digital.
My thoughts on early Superman
First it was another time with different values. Very interesting as i started reading Superman in the 50’s
Superman couldn’t fly so he just leaped tall buildings
No x-ray vision
No super breath
Strange symbol on his shirt
And a in your face attitude, this was kind of hard to cope with because by the 50’s he was polite and kind. In these early editions he was kind of a asshole. I was surprised he actually caught on with this attitude but then again I didn’t grow up in the late 30’s or in New York, so different times.. maybe.
Otherwise it was fun.
As fo DC Universe
I was bummed out reading these. They only had the Superman stories no other stories of other characters and no advertisements.
Actually I was upset about this so I sent off a email to them. (I’m sure the delete button got pressed). Same with the old Batman books (Detective Comics).
Also when I started looking at other keys there seem to be a lot of holes.
For instance I have never read Batman Adventure’s 12. So I looked it up. The other books in that series were there (with holes)
But alas no #12. Bummer
The serial shows were good though,
Doom patrol was a little weird but it grows on you
The Titans started out slow so hang in there it gets better.
The new Harley is “cute”. The language gives it the adult rating. Not sure about that, it didn’t really do anything for me.
The animated Wonder Woman was good (old story brought up to date).
As for DC as a whole
It’s ok but it’s no Disney +.
Is it worth it..... after I get through all that’s there now and if they don’t keep adding new stuff I’ll let you know

If you don’t have a laptop with a HDMI outlet or you don’t want to add and remove it from your TV all the time get a Chromebook 3. It works great and it’s just a touch over a 100 bucks on Amazon.
Plus you can watch you tube and show your own pictures & videos on your TV plus surf the Internet on the big screen.
I would think, if you had to take college courses, especially now, or the kids have to go to school on line, which their talking about down here for K-12 they can do it on the big screen, and you won’t have to plug and unplug the laptop or desktop (larger non moveable units).
I hope this helps. 🖖

I'm loading up on ammo, rice, beans, canned foods, water, baby food, etc. If it gets bad as China, a forced quarantine. I'll at least be ready to provide for the family and keep looters at bay. But that's a worst case scenario... if it happens that they come up with a vaccine, it will probably be a forced one and it has had no time for long term testing and due to that reason, I'd rather not take the vaccine to be honest. My wife's on hemodialysis, our Max is 2 ¹/² years old. What kind of reactions/side effects could it give them? We don't know cause it's not been tested long enough. I'm also going to go buy some zinc and N-Acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC). (BTW you all should get some zinc and NAC, it could save you & your families lives.)

Other than that... I'll be watching a wall of DVDs and reading tons of books, painting miniatures, exercising, just keeping track of what's going on in the world.

Edit: I also gotta load up on cat/dog and rabbit food for the pets.

I have my pull list stack of books to read. I like having a stack to choose from. For example I read King Thor #1,2 and 3 the other night one after the other. I find it more enjoyable than just reading 1 issue and having to wait weeks for the next issue. I also want to update my sales sight here. I started putting comics up on ebay about 2 weeks ago. I just started slow with 5 books. I sold my first book inside the first week. That was cool. I added a few more and plan to continue to add even more.
I also need to finish watching the rest of season 2 of Lost in Space on Netflix.

@cougartrace Yeah. I still gotta go to work too. Florida all the way to Upstate NY. But my job also allows us to self-quarantine for two weeks if needed.
Globally there are only about 60 of us HP Large Format Printer, Field Service Engineers so it's not like we can really just stop working whenever. Though it would be nice to be able to work from home for about a month until this coronavirus hopefully goes away.
Not wanting to sound like a "fear monger" but, from what I'm gathering, unfortunately, its just beginning...

If paying for entertainment, I wholeheartedly suggest Shudder.
I think I pay either $5 or $7 a month, but it's totally worth it especially if you're a horror movie fanatic like myself.

Green Acres
Hogan's Heroes
Andy Griffith Show
Perry Mason
The Twilight Zone
Alfred Hitchcock Presents
Mannix (I swear Mannix gets knocked unconscious in almost every episode)
Canon
Dragnet
Adam-12
Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea
Gillian's Island
Wonder Woman
Star Trek (OS)
etc....

Tonight on Svengoolies, they are showing the classic movie, "4D Man"

I grossly neglected to mention "The Beverly Hillbillies"

MeTV also shows many of the classic westerns....

Bonanza
The Big Valley
Gunsmoke
Wagon Train
Rawhide
The Rifleman
Bat Masterson (YUK)
Maverick (YUK)

Aside from the two YUK's above, I also tend to skip....

I Love Lucy
My Three Sons
Love Boat

LOL, I love you man! Everyone else is preparing to read comic books and you're preparing to fend off looters. All I have to face the end times with is an SUV, an envelope with some cash, a hunting knife a can of pepper spray an overweight Rat Terrier and a Chihuahua. I talked it over with the kids and the only doomsday plan we could come up with is to eat the Chihuahua and stop feeding the Terrier until he catches us some rats.
