Ultimate Spider-Man #1 JC Penney Mad Engine question11417

I can't find any graded copies of this and only one copy for sale on eBay and one on amazon. Nothing on gocollect either. Any ideas of the value or rarity???

Ultimate Spider-Man #1 JC Penney Mad Engine Edition

Mad Engine Variant/No Free Comic Book Day Logo. It does identify as the FCBD edition in the indicia, but not on the front cover. NOTE: This variant is a 32 page partial reprint of Ultimate Spider-Man #1 - the original story had 48 pages. The Mad Engine Edition is believed to be a promotional item only available with purchases from the Marvel Apparel Line licensed through Mad Engine. Both of the Mad Engine Variants (FCBD COVER LOGO and NO LOGO) can easily be identified by the presence of the Mad Engine ad on the back cover instead of the Pop Tarts ad used for the regular FCBD edition. Also, the Mad Engine FCBD Editions have better paper stock and glossy covers whereas the regular FCBD edition had newsprint paper stock and cover. Comes Sealed

One other tidbit regarding this book. They were originally polybagged and attached to t-shirts. That's how you would get them. So there are polybagged and unbagged versions.

There are also polybagged and unbagged versions of the Mad Engine back cover WITH the Free Comic Book Day insignia on the cover.

@manfred_spain Impressive! Great to see all the different variations of that cover. And that's a great collection you put together - for the Deadpool homage there is a 2nd version.

Thanks for the heads up on that one. I've tended to stay away from foreign versions, but I'll have to splurge on that one.
