I’ve been wanting a swamp thing 37 for a couple years. Low and behold there are two in town now. I’ll be buying one of them in the next week or two.

I think if the government does release the suggested checks they are debating, you are likely to see some traffic for books priced in the 1-2 k range

my thoughts exactly. It would be good to save that but it’s also important to keep businesses going.

What's up with Italy? is it just a very old demographic? Do the young people move out of Italy and raise their kids in other countries? The death rate there is like 8 times most of the world, twice that of China and the total numbers now are greater than in China.

My plan is to spend it all On local small retail businesses...as they’re going To be the worst hit. Fortunately some of those are comic shops!

Living in Hong Kong - you can not take the official numbers for China real. The actual numbers are probably multiplied by 10 (incl people who died). Until early February many people in China were denied testing and if a person died without being tested - it is not part of the official number

· If you must sign for a package, wear disposable gloves. Wash hands afterwards immediately without touching your face.

· Leave packages in your garage for a few days before opening. Typical transit is 2-3 days plus days in the garage untouched is a week untouched. Do not walk the packages through your house to place outside in the garage.

· Leave a sign on your front door: "PLEASE LEAVE DELIVERIES AT DOOR" or leave a table outside for food or packages. Do not touch the packages for at least 30 minutes once the delivery person has left.

· According to recent studies with NIAID, the COVID-19 virus is airborne for up to 30 minutes from aerosols in the air from an infected person. http://bit.ly/3a3PBMA - and it's not clear if conventional air conditioning systems are sufficient in close quarters or automobiles. You should be wearing a face respirator mask and gloves if you leave the house. When you come home, shower and change clothes immediately. Leave shoes at the door in garage

It is a combination of multiple things.

1) Italians live long. They have many elderly people
2) they give cheek kisses all the time
3) many “kids” in the 20s and 30s live with their parents - and have passed the virus on to their parents
4) family ties are strong and family dinners across generations are not uncommon.
5) northern part of Italy has a large population of Chinese workers due to the fashion industry. There are a lot of visitors between northern Italy and China.

From what I understand Senators and Representatives have legally excluded themselves from insider trading laws. That kind of thing only applies to those of us not in powerful government positions. I believe their argument is that they have constant access to information and any trade they make could be construed as insider trading.

I do vaguely remember now that there was a fairly recent prosecution of a congressman who was buying and selling through his son with insider information.

Funny. We have two little rescue dogs who lived on the streets together. Bucky is constantly trying to steal food. The other stands between him and the food like a cop and snarls at him. It's hilarious.
When I see it I get that tune in my head "Always catching Bucky ridin dirty".

Considering Trump isn't actually a Republican, not that surprising. I still don't know how that party let themselves get usurped by him and the dems were headed down the same extremism road with Sanders. Two party system is a freaking sham.

Regardless of what trump is, we have no choice but to support him in this crisis and pray he starts to make sensible decisions.

I just wish the fact checking as demonstrated in the video was unnecessary.

I think it's great the way it ended. He's now taking steps that we need as a nation. In the immortal words of Cheech Marin "Better late than never". AND, despite the public rhetoric, Trump was making appropriate moves despite what he was publicly saying before the 17th.

You actually have a number of choices. Support health workers. Support small businesses and your neighbors. Demand better of Trump and his chosen, incompetent leaders. Demand better of his news source https://twitter.com/thefix/status/1240041548672380931 . Hopes and prayers don't stop bullets, viruses, or the President.

Trump and his administration has handled this perfectly. Unlike the last President who let 17k die and 61 million get infected because he was late to act.

This is no one's fault. The reason we aren't Italy is because the US is the best country on the earth and our leaders took steps to help us way before this started.
