@Imad

Those stains cannot be removed and they greatly affect the grade.

Great question. I researched the Overstreet grading guide and the first mention of water stains was in a 1.8. However with that said, an argument could be said for a 4.5 where a moderate accumulation of discoloration, fading, foxing, even minor soiling is allowed. I would guess you're safely at that range.

It's like the Roach Motel for comic collectors. chester15 private msg quote post Address this user
This comic at today's prices is only worth significant money in higher grades. Even a 4.0 might be only $50. After grading expenses and shipping both ways, not really worth the time and money. Especially if it comes back at a 1.0. If it skyrockets in value suddenly in the near future, that would be the only way the numbers make sense.

May be best to sell it off as a raw copy, and then add some money to that to buy a really nice one, raw or graded.

Is it restoration?

@Imad, clean and press does not count as restoration. I have seen many examples of a clean and press making a significant improvement in the appearance of a comic. Of course, there is no guarantee of a specific grade increase, but I thought it was worth trying.
