Ginger Baker was a beast behind the kit....in front of it too, come to think of it. @esaravo @CatmanAmerica have you guys seen the Beware Mr. Baker doc? Highly recommended!

Just saw the Space Station and SpaceX Dragon cruisin across the sky at the same time, and couldn’t think of a better album, front to back.

I’m a little surprised that Alex Harvey hasn’t gotten a bit more attention. For a time Alex was an iconic figure on both sides of the Atlantic until the band dissolved in ‘77. Examples of the SAHB on YouTube seem rarer than they used to be, but that just may be my misremembering what was out there.

As a front man Alex Harvey is reminiscent of the philosophical American songwriter Jim Morrison, gifted with the latter’s wry perspective and ability to engage an audience. Tragically, he also suffered a similar tendency toward alcohol-abuse which led to his band’s demise.

Many of the Sensational Alex Harvey Band’s songs were lengthy anthems with ironic perspectives on history or hamster wheel nature of the human comedy. Anyway, for those looking for something musically different or classic rock that isn’t too dated, Alex Harvey might be worth another look.

@RexMuff after reading your reference to Bowie, I realized it has been ages since I'd heard this one.

Wow, can honestly say I’ve never heard or seen that version. That’s awesome/weird. This is my #1 Bowie song, other than everything from Labyrinth
