CBCS: Comics You Just Got Back11148

Collector cawummel private msg quote post Address this user
Sorry for the glare. Sent this into Clan McDonald Comics last year, and just got it back. Same grade as I sent it in as with 3 signatures added to it. Now the internal debate starts if I send it to GCOA for the Chris Claremont signing opp.

Wow, there is a dog puke stain on my carpet here. Ill just admit it instead of editing.
@HeinzDad - 22 is not bad. with my 2019 SDCC submission, I usually had appx 3doz per box.

Just received my first submission order from CBCS and am quite happy with the results. The #316's case is lightly scuffed on the front, so may try to give it a very light polish to remove them.

@Cosmic_Shel "quite happy" is an understatement. Congrats on the grades! They look great slabbed.
Found it interesting that the label states Newsstand.

@Cosmic_Shel I'm sick with envy. Congratulations.
One question, did the 9.8 grades bump the slabbing cost from what you had assumed when you first submitted them? I'm figuring all those books are probably over $1,000 FMV currenlty?

@Murmonster Sometimes we get a signature authenticated that reminds us just how much of a bargain the $25 authentication cost is. Particularly true with dead artists. I was so happy when my Murphy Anderson and Bernie Wrightson signatures were verified this year, I would have easily paid $100 for that. And I didn't even get those signatures myself, just found the books in the wild.

Thanks waynemel and EbayMafia!

They were submitted under the 2-Day Modern Tier which has a $2,000 value limit, so no tier bump. I was confident the 8 books were 9.6-9.8's and valued them at 1k each.

I submitted 10 books as a test to see if switching to CBCS was a viable alternative to CGC for me. So far, I'd say a big Yes for the modern tier, which in my case would be 1975-1994 as I stopped buying new comics in the mid-90's, and focused on older books. Next, I'm going to try their Quickstream and/or Rapid Tiers on a few older books.

The 2 books shown below came back lower than expected. I thought they were 9.4-9.6's minimum, so I'll check the grader's notes tomorrow to see why they only graded 9.2's.

Just got these back today - my two free 2-Day Moderns.

Was hoping Edge of Spider-verse would come back a little higher.

Can’t complain about Silver Surfer. I may or may not sell this. Can’t make up my mind.

Got these back yesterday. My first shipment back from CBCS (though my 2nd submission, this one just had no presses or VSP, and I did FastPass). The Batman #92 is definitely a keep for me, not sure about the other 3 yet.

I have another copy of this in with CGC, once I get that back I might sell one of them. I was a bit disappointed with this grade, I thought it was an 7.5 to 8.0 or so. But I'm not complaining, that's why they get paid to do it and I don't.

I'm not a massive Star Wars comic fan (the movies and shows, etc... are another story). So I'm more than likely going to sell this. Glad it came out with the 9.8.

Love this cover, even more than the regular one. I have 2 more that are unslabbed as of yet. Not sure if I want to send the rest in for grading and go on a selling spree? Just keep what I have? Sell a couple and just keep 1? Regardless, pretty sure they're all 9.8 candidates. Though I did read one. I was careful but who knows.

This one I know I'm keeping. It'll join the joker "family" wall rotation. In fact it already has
