| Surprised no one has mentioned Dwayne McDuffie who was one of a few who created the Dakotaverse which was part of DC's Milestone imprint. This universe is probably most known for Static, which later was turned into a Saturday morning cartoon show (Static Shock). Unfortunately McDuffie was one such creative that passed on way too soon. |

In the early days of comics depictions of minority characters was somewhat unfortunate. One of the first mainstream comics to feature a positive portrayal of an African American character was Harvey Comics’ Tiny. Tiny was a clever and imaginative little boy who was one of Little Audrey’s group of friends. In the pre-civil rights movement 1950s that is significant all by itself. Tiny became so popular that he became the star of his own series in the back of Little Audrey’s comic. According to editor Sid Jacobson: “Tiny was done consciously by us. Our group, even Warren Kremer, were socially conscious. Audrey was the only comic then with a black character. We even got an Urban Award for it.”![]() ![]() |

| @Sagii None that I recall, although I don’t have every issue of Little Audrey so it’s possible. If I find one I will post it here. | ||
