Funny, I was thinking the same about the WildC.A.T.S. But after seeing that the Cert # starts with 20-, I can confirm it is not mine.

No gap on the edge. Slab feels more sturdy in the hand.

How does the thickness compare to the old slabs? It’s difficult to see in the picture.

Thought they were the same. You just won't have that movement in the middle to prise it open a fraction.

These look great. Are orders that are placed now going to use these slabs? Or will it be March before new orders will use them?

I believe Daryl had mentioned that they "should" debut March, but I know right now books to be getting graded rather quickly. I sent in six books on December 31st (without pressing on them) and today got confirmation they are shipping so only three weeks from the date I mailed them in to the day they are shipping. They are just ones I will be flipping and clearly will be the current case and that is ok, but for the books in my personal collection, I am waiting until later this year after the new cases are in fact being used.

I hope it's current orders! I have 12 books in with either pressing or press screening - gonna be like 6 months - this might be a small consolation!!

I agree 100%, I do feel it would look more appealing, cleaner, and professional if it stated "Verified Signature:" rather than "Verified Sig:". I like the look of the new cases, despite not seeing one in person, and the current label looks fine, just the "Verified Sig" thing needs to change.

From the feedback we got in house and online it was one the vast majority seemed to really want.
Sure they want more, but the new cases and the announcement of Magazine size was a great start to 2020.

Perhaps it was a broad reach to say "most" when I should have just said "I." By 2020, I would have hoped to have had a Registry instead of a yet again redesign slab. Something that would make it a little easier to sell a CBCS graded book and give me more of a reason to submit to CBCS again. However, as I should have phrased in my previous post, that's probably just me.

I don't recall CBCS redesigning their slab in the past

Sorry....think I missed something. Magazine size is coming?? is there an ETA on that?

Although yes...registry would also be nice....really those 2 items would put CBCS on par service wise with those other guys....of course the CBCS product itself is much better.

All these "shoulds" and "hopes" smack of #soon. My vote for a big announcement would have been "we hired more pressers and doubled our number of presses".

The new slabs look great!! Do they still sit "nicely/correctly" with the old slabs when they are stored next to one another?

The new slabs looks great...my problem (and always has been) is the labels. They clash with almost any cover ever printed for a simple reason...their palette is pastel and most most comics use saturated colors...so they don’t mix. Blue isnt horrible, but yellow, and especially pink are eyesores and hugely distracting. This is one of the main reasons Cgc’s labels are more appealing.

@ozonetv regarding the labels, totally your opinion. I disagree. I believe CBCSs label are far more appealing than CGCs and I'd bet most people here do as well.

I was digging in my slab boxes last night and found one thing I like better about CGC than CBCS: the top of the label. That's what you see if your slabs are in a box, and the CGC labels are very easy to read with the black font on white background. The CBCS top labels tend to be smaller and harder to read since they're on blue.

CGC has those Marvel labels....I think CBCS should contact DC and make a similar label.
