Does anyone know what size/brand of mylar bags (with the adhesive strip) CBCS uses to protect slabs? Are they proprietary, if so, what's the closest thing out there?

I'm curious about this myself.

Hmph. I didn’t think those outer bags were mylar.

They are not Mylar. I'm sure HotFlips sells something similar. hotflips.com Comic Book Supplies pages 13 & 14

I have received many slabs direct from CBCS with ripped/damaged bags. I think they are polypropylene, which is easier to tear than polyethylene or Mylar.

When I scan a CBCS slab I have to take it of those sleeves. They almost always rip when I try to put it back in.

I have not ripped one yet... Though I have not had my CBCS books long and rarely take them out of the bag. They may not be mylar, my terminology is probably off.

you can get 100 of these for $12.99. They say that they are crystal clear polyproplene. So, like your regular comic book bag.

Is there a bag I can use to protect the bag that is protecting the slab?

I'm not sure those are acid free or off-gassing safe.

A bag to protect the bag that protects the slab that protects the comic? What about the bag for the container for the bag, bag, slab, comic?
