| I have a Fantastic Four with rusty staple(s). Assuming that all staples are rusty but the comic is, otherwise, in VG condition, how much would such a defect impact the grade or value? | ||

@RLR I am not positive where rusty staples would land a book. My guess would be good (3.0) at the very highest, but I am not a grader, nor do I play one on tv.  |

| Depends on the amount of rust, whether or not it transfers to the interior pages and to what degree. At VG it's not a big impact on the grade. | ||

| I believe the rust hasn’t transferred to the pages, though I did not have a chance to evaluate closely. I will try to photograph & scan once we are past the holidays. If staples could be replaced with period staples, would that be an advantage or disadvantage in valuation? |

| no...you can get a 10.0 as well, but good luck finding a book that clean...they also do 9.9 as well Make note of the chart I posted above, it does allow for 9.9 and 10.0 |
