I was looking for that one and liked the Simpsons cover more.

It’s a good cover, though.

Simpsons might even break my high vote total of 5.

It’s tough to compete with all the silver age and golden age covers popping up.

That @Stevericketts Weird Science-Fantasy 29 is going to be hard to beat. If this were a gambling site I would give 2-1 odds to anyone who thinks it won't be the winner. I've seen the cover a hundred times but I keep going back to look at it.

My friend Jim Halperin owns the original art to that cover. It is super cool!

No way! Let's see it. If I remember correctly, wasn't it originally a Buck Rogers cover that was rejected or never used, and then it was repurposed by Frazetta?

@sborock - That is so awesome! I have always loved Frank Frazetta's Science Fiction covers. I was able to pick up a raw Weird Fantasy #21 in an eBay auction a few years ago (and had it graded by CBCS). Now I think I definitely NEED to get a copy of that book (WSF #29).

@sborock That is an amazing and iconic piece of original artwork to own. On the comic cover, when they visually juxtaposed it with a launching rocket ship outside the frame...that was a subtle stroke of genius.

I was 14 when this came out and I'll say I never really liked this Robin...now I also wasn't over the moon with Tim Drake but Damian is meh??

Any whoooo...this is my entry for this weeks cover contest...a classic cover and a character that they really could have just left dead...not like he was Superman or anything!!

The rules in the OP for this weeks contest states if it's a Batman title then the character does not need to be on the cover, so I opted for the Tec 28. However, I don't expect it to fare very well against the Bat covers when it comes time to vote.

That's okay...

Not that I'm going to win this or any other week but I just had an idea for a contest based on my submission this week - D.O.A. - death issues either on the cover or in the story!

This weeks winner inspired me to go on MCS and look for that amazing Space Ghost cover. I picked up the whole 6 issue mini-series for about $25...all with really cool Alex Ross covers.

@xkonk they changed the file size for upload. Apparently they might look at changing it back?? Try lower quality?

@xkonk - The maximum file size is now 2 MB for an image. It used to be 3 or 4 MB before the maintenance shutdown. I had to lower the resolution on my HP scanner to get an image that works. Scans from my Canon all-in-one still load without any issues. Jesse said “they” might be able to reset it back to the prior setting.

I would get an error message previously when I tried to load something over 6MB. I'm not getting that message now. So either the file size isn't the issue (the jpeg is under 2MB), or they also dropped the error messages. I've also tried both at home and at work.

@xkonk - I just tried uploading an image greater than 2 MB, and it seems to be working now (see below, this cover's already been entered, but not by me). So not sure what's going on with your files.

The max size is at 6 mb now. There might be some issues with flipping on some .jpg files, but that is being worked on. If you are still having problems, please describe the problem and what you are using and I'll pass it along.

Yes, all weekend, (after Maintenance) I couldn't load pics from my computer. I had to transfer pics to my phone and then I could load pics from my phone.

I would upload a screenshot of the webpage but, uh, I can't upload pictures. I click the 'upload images' button and select my file, like any other time, and a little gold/yellowish box appears that says "Loading image..." . And then it just stays there.

At home this happened when using Chrome and at work the same thing happens when using Firefox.

As someone who will also never win, I second this idea. Hopefully one day a winner (not a non-winner like us) will take it and run with it.

@Jesse_O Another thought: Would it be possible to run a parallel "Contest of Champions" Cover contest? I'm thinking it would include 20 weekly winners at a time and we vote on the overall Champion. Then we put the 18 or so Champions together and vote on the 1 Grand Champion? The single best cover submission as chosen by the forum members.
I'm not sure of the logistics, if it would require the original winners to resubmit or if the images could be pulled from the old contests and pasted into a new one?
