The WCC has no official chairperson, so the winner is most certainly privileged to announce themself. Pretty much anybody who wants to take the time, and do the math (if necessary) may announce the winner.

@EbayMafia and congratulations!

@xkonk, In your submission this week there is a sword in the floor and they are reading Macbeth. I assume both of those things probably have some symbolism that is meaningful to the story line? I'm not familiar with the story.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
@EbayMafia I don't know that it's supposed to be all that tied to the storyline. It's been a while since I read it but the gist is that an alien ship crashes, and the alien asks for Wolverine. Then people nearby start getting sick. It turns out that Wolverine finds a way to cure the disease by absorbing it from the sick people and burning it out with her healing factor.

I don't 100% know what the artist was going for, but I could go back to my English high school class and spin something about Macbeth being a lesson in bravery not being enough, or being a warrior not being enough, if you don't also try to do good. Macbeth is a tragedy because he's a respected warrior but his ambition becomes too much and he kills for himself. The whole Wolverine group were created and raised to be soldiers and killing machines so it seems like a valuable piece of deprogramming.

I had forgot all about that Gumby Summer Special. That cover always struck me as punching above it's weight.

That Gumby is very cool.

I remember when RUSH was touring back in the late 80's, Geddy Lee had Gumby and Pokey figures stationed on top of his keyboards.

My bro and I would try to watch that on PBS at all cost. I had a Gumby and he had a Pokey. My daughter has a Gumby and has read some trades. I just happened to have the Summer Special fall in my hands recently.

Here is my last glamor pic I did with Gumby. Censorship may be necessary, he is on a statue my daughter did.

When I was young, I had the original Gumby and Pokey figures. Soft rubber on the outside with a wire skeleton on the inside so you could bend them.

I played with those G&P figures till the rubber was cracking and the wires protruded... they were eventually trashed.

Wonder how much a NM/M set would run today.

A lot of books this week that I'd like to "share the love" with. Wish I had more than 3 votes. I'm kind of bummed that the Under-appreciated theme is going to leave some worthy submissions feeling even more Under-appreciated.

how do you removed vote i voted by mistake

Moderator Jesse_O private msg quote post Address this user
@Reelgee unfortunately, votes cannot be removed. My advice is to make the votes you cast early be one, two or all three of your votes. If you voted for more then three, the only fair thing to do would be to give every cover the same number of votes on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday.

That Richie Rich cover could be the Poster Child for what I was hoping to see in this contest.

If either of these were a real comic and were entered, then I would have voted for them.

This is hilarious

One has to be of a certain age to know who Carl is and just how good that show was when it started. Yes, I know there was a series done but those covers are pretty bad. I looked at them trying to find one I liked and enter it this week. I couldn't find one.

I had to get creative. I actively avoid all things related to what passes for "journalism" these days. I won't even watch the weather.

Only covers I have are Daredevil 7 and 8 with newspapers on the cover. The contest is specific wanting someone on the cover that's a journalist/ photographer reporting news, so I'll have to sit this one out as I only submit books I own.

I went with Teen Titans 42 because the cover is photographs that Tara took using a camera in her contact lens and then reports the information she has gathered back to the Terminator. Maybe a stretch, I don't know.

@IronMan, great contest entry, Tony!!! I'm also 99.9% certain of that being the first Black female on a comic book cover. One day, I WILL own a copy!!

Remind me of Twilight Zone covers. The second one is cool and goofy at the same time. I wonder how they decided how many to print? Hard to imagine the expected audience would be very big. I bet you're the only person on the forum who even knew they existed.
