It's Friday. Southerncross started the new contest early this morning. That threw me off a little bit. I'm so used to waiting until Friday evening for it to start.

@GAC I got into Charlton about 2 years ago.

I've already seen a couple of books I need to keep a eye out for.

Charlton was a sleeper to me. I awoke to Charlton when I was in a big Ditko phase. Spidey and Dr. Strange stuff was exhausted...then found his Charlton work. Awesome!!

Two Charlton covers I got that I like.

Biker drawn in leather that looks Suspect.
And the gothic horror romance cover.

while this is not a cover...imo this is one of the most powerful images in comics ever drawn.

@dielinfinite - D@mn, that is a nice cover! Pretty much a perfect wrap also. Assuming that is your copy, cheers to you. I have a crap ton of Kirby Bronze - Mondern, but my FF50, that I entered, is my only Silver Age that is currently graded.

@Scifinator Thanks! It is mine, though I think the color balance on the scan is a bit off since it looks a bit grayer than it actually is

Might get crickets in this week's themed cover contest.

I'm just amazed at how many covers have Australian animals, ect.

And I'd like to find more to collect in the future

There's so many great mano-a-mano covers that I'm having a hard time deciding which genre to choose from!! I've seen great superhero, war and fantasy covers that would fall into this category.

@Jesse_O I'm afraid to post one because I know that I will immediately think of another that I like better.

@Scifinator That Lobo/Demon cover really catches the eye.

My second choice for this week was Wolverine 10, but it's not like there's a lack of Wolvie-Sabretooth options out there. Also, since I didn't choose it, Wolverine 10 is guaranteed to get more votes if someone wants to use it

I tried to pull something from my collection that wasn’t to obvious. I was real close to posting my Hulk 250 (hulk v Silver Surfer, but thought i would deviate to the DC side.

I thought of using that, but I figured people had seen it too many times for it to win. I ultimately chose something I've never seen before that will likely get less votes.

Not a legal entry since it is not an actual cover in circulation but still pretty cool. The story behind this one is that Stan Lee vetoed this cover because he felt the logo was too obscured. Neal Adams didn’t take it well and it was a factor in his decision to leave the book.

For those who are still looking for a cover to enter, here’s two hints: Iron Man #7 and Aquaman #42. And there are still a few Batman ones too.

The Punch Comics on Post 21 is interesting for the era. On zoom I can see that some of the women are topless. It’s a 10 cent book, maybe 40’s or 50’s. Anyone know if they were sold on the newsstand?
