My favorite lightening [album] cover.

I wonder if someone will post a star wars force lightning cover. I was going to, but had to put up my dark knight homage harbinger.

Here's a piece of published original art where the hero has wings. I felt I was lucky to win this piece on eBay a few years ago. This is page 6 from Captain America: Sam Wilson #6, April, 2016. It is of Joaquin Torres before his role as Falcon. He is battling the Serpent Solution: Viper, Bushmaster and King Cobra.

This is the published page.

I am having second thoughts on my Nick Fury cover for this week's contest. Should I leave it, or go for more people with all their guns a blazing?

@xkonk - Went for multiple people with guns, all blasting away. Not as stylish, but much more action.

Everyone who enters on time has a chance to win. Not everyone who has entered has won, or has an equal chance of winning.

Obviously I can't speak for others, but I vote strictly on the book,.. regardless who posted it. Naturally I look and see who submitted the entry, but the user has absolutely no influence on my vote.. whether I give the entry 1,2, or 3 votes... or no votes. And that is really the way it should be.

Many times I have entered covers in the WCC that I knew had absolutely no chance of winning, but that's the book I wanted to share. I'm certain everyone would like to have a win. But to me, if I win - that's great! If I don't win - I don't take it personal. To me it's all about having fun.

This contest is fun. I to vote for the books I like. Very seldom do I even look nor do I care who posted the book. Every cover I post I think is a winner in my mind. But of course not everyone thinks the same way..
I really enjoy looking for cool covers
I tend to post golden age books and every so often a newer one. I have probably participated for about two years and won once with a cover I thought wouldn’t win.. go figure.. also I have seen some great books that I have never seen and have liked them so much that I went and found and purchased a few. I do have my favorite characters (early Wonder Woman, early Vampirella, in fact any beautiful sexy woman
Will do). Lol. 🖖

Same here! I go after the GA books (preferably pre-code horror), but it doesn't always work out.

I won three times in a year and a half and I'm certainly a nobody so I believe anyone can win. There are certain things that tip the scale in my opinion. One is originality. I generally do the same google search that anyone would and try and stay away from those covers. Two is presentation, having a thumb size pic might not hurt but doesn't help. Three jump on it, I've had far less to choose from logging in on a Monday vs a Friday. So there are some minor ways to objectively improve your chances.

Tough theme this week. I don't own any of the books shared so far, and I honestly cannot recall a cover in my collection that might have a bicycle on it. I don't own many older DC- they seem to enjoy bike rides, and Marvel heroes don't, but I'll keep looking until Wednesday.

Hey Scott, entries for the WCC do not have to be a cover that is in your collection,.. unless that is your preference.

I used to ride it down a wide stainless steel slide at the playground - don't know how I didn't get killed! Ed, my mom and dad ran an automotive parts store when I was growing up. I rode my bike EVERYWHERE for several years. I even made parts deliveries with it!! But one of my worst childhood memories involved my brand new Evel Kenievel bike with a banana seat. The parts store was right on main street in our small town. As was quite common then, each block had several trees planted in the sidewalk. There was one such tree right outside my parents parts store. I usually locked my bike to that tree. One day, I just leaned it against the tree because I was just popping into the store for a minute. When I came back out, my bike was gone!! I was crushed for months!! I got a different, not an Evel Kenievel, bike shortly after. That incident formed my opinion of thieves that I still have today. They are one spot above rapists and pedophiles.

@Jesse_O - I agree! But today, if a thief gets caught in the act, they scream that they were set up. If they were indeed set up, then they did it to themselves. But they refuse to take responsibility for they actions and place the blame on the victim.

How pathetic!

I can't think of anything in my collection that fits the bill this week. Like Siggy, every week I try to find something I own (or at least used to own and I have a scan of it) to submit. My oldest book is from 1947, and the majority of my collection is SA and BA. Would a 1950's Blackhawk comic count? That's about as close as I can get I think.
