It's #4 on the "28 Unintentionally Naughty Comic Book Covers" list here...

Yeah, my mind went there too. I think being in the military warped my sense of humor because it helped me cope.

I’ve been watching a X-force 2 that was $75 or $80. I was going to buy it only to see it was repriced at $125 a month later. A few weeks go by and now it’s at $175? I thought price drops were the norm when product doesn’t move not price increases.

If you need an X-force 2 talk to @Donnied. He's the authorized distributor of X-force #2 on the CBCS forum.

I did get a couple from Donnied originally. Gave 1 to my brother and 1 ended up it a trade.

I think I just sold my last book on eBay. I don’t understand the market at all right now. I list 3 books from my last 2 subs. 2 out of 3 books I break even. The last sold for 56 plus shipping; after grading and shipping both ways I’m not losing money, but damn. “FMV” has been $130-$150. I even watched sales prior to listing and all broke $100. I’m not trying to get rich, but why?

Personally after getting far less in auction than I thought would on a hulk 181, I put all my stuff at buy it now. I don't want to sell unless I get my bare minimum.

Yeah, an auction is always a risk. Sometimes you get a couple people 'rage-bidding' against each other, driving the price to ridiculous levels. But most of the time, the outliers go the other way. I guess on balance, for auctions, I get about 90% of current value?

@HulkSmash if you do another auction, most of the sites say a 7-day auction that ends Sunday night on the east coast is best ... between 9:00 pm and 11:00 pm or so. So that's what I try to do, when I do have an auction. Also, it is hardest for the books that are thinly traded. Even on eBay, if there is just a small market for your book, it's hard to find bidders.

Also, I almost always promote my auctions. I create a post here, and especially at the CGC forums, which get a lot of attention. That definitely helps. I include a link directly to each book. It takes a lot of time, but I think it's worth it, makes it easy for folks to go straight to a comic they are interested in.

@Tedsaid as far as attention goes; it got over 500 views, 33 watchers and 11 bidders. It was a 9.8 spider-verse 1 Walmart cover. I’m glad I’m not losing money. I’ve been in the eBay flipping game for years and definitely have Ls to go with a the Ws. After feeling I did my due diligence on this one; Just kinda being a sore winner I guess.

I hear ya ... the ones that go for way less than they should really sting. The Flash Comics (golden age) I sold over a year ago for too little is still a sore spot.

I got a message from eBay today with a 'tax invoice'. I'm seeing a lot of confusion in at least one thread about it. Anyone have an idea what it is? Is it a bill, or just a record?

@xkonk Mine is a summary of non-taxable fees--final value fees, insertion fees, international fees, etc.

The term "invoice" is confusing. It's the stuff to deduct from any eBay sales income.

I haven't seen that high before, but I have seen some awfully high asks for 184 recently. I think we've hit the Forge level of "push every X-Men first appearance through the roof".

Another example of MHC & Chuck Rozanski lunacy! I came across this on eBay because I was looking for this particular book, found another copy with actual pictures (NOT stock image) for a mere $10 in NM!

I have bought from Mile High in the past but I waited until there a 60% off codeword and I looked for an item that was at fmv or below after the 60% discount. The appeal? one-stop-shop and cheap shipping, since I bought several comics at once.

Otherwise, no way.

IMO this copy looks just a bit too rough on the 2 bottom corners and the top of the cover has noticeable flaws. Bidding on eBay is already $1,250.00!! I don't think people look close at the pictures & zoom in to see the details. I would not be happy to receive this copy listed as a 9.8, looks closer to a 9.2? Any opinions??

@brysb I've heard the terms Frankenslab and creep engine thrown around a few times to describe CGC slabs of different time periods that cause damage to comics. Maybe someone here knows more about this and the specific time periods for which they were most problematic.

That isn't one of the creep engine slabs. The label is older. That's probably Shaken Comic Syndrome (SCS).
