Yep a joke listing, I read it to my wife and we both laughed, I've told her the price jump on books over the last 12 months and she can't believe it either.
She said you are still collecting romance and your may 72 books still and I said yes.
They aren't spec books 👍

@ebaymafia - Oh, that's just not right.

The 2nd picture was a screen shot of this listing:

The 3rd picture was a screen shot of a similar listing that was at about $325 but is also now disappeared.

I just now got the request to change to managed payments through ebay and I have a quick question.

On ebay managed payments, does ebay take their slice of the pie immediately now instead of at a later date?

yes it comes right off the top. So what your available balance shows is what you pocket

I don't understand this seller's listings for the Last Ronin. Right cover but wrong label.

Just my opinion, My instinct is that sending money straight to your bank account may not be the best move for Ebay. It's purely psychological, but when I sold something on Ebay and that money went into a Paypal account I felt pretty free to turn around and spend it quickly on other Ebay items. It felt like Mad Money...money that I didn't have to feel any reservations about spending. Now that it goes straight into a bank account I wonder if that will have any significant reduction on peoples desire to turn around and quickly re-spend it?

@EbayMafia

I agree with you. Paypal being separate always felt like a discretionary account that was separate from my "real" money.

However I do like that they take their cut immediately. There is nothing worse than spending money that isn't yours and finding out you owe at the end of the month. That was the one thing about ebay that really irked me. I'm hoping this process gives me more things to like as time progresses...

I agree with @EbayMafia as well. When I make a sale I definitely feel more free to go and buy something else and will probably be less likely to do that when the money goes to my "this is where the bills get paid" account. But I haven't been switched over yet, so I guess we'll see when the time comes.

@KatKomics How about $5 Grand?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-42-CGC-9-8-White-Pages/284183516339?hash=item422aa854b3:g:b-EAAOSwdRdgKF3y

But I also see raw copies selling for $80-$400, so the question is how nice is yours and how nice do you need your personal collection to be? I'm one of the few collectors who puts less importance on condition for personal collection, so I have the luxury of sometimes downgrading and taking profits from my higher grade books. Not to say I wouldn't like to upgrade some of my personal books, but for me there is not much value in owning anything above an 8.0-9.0 for personal satisfaction.

@EbayMafia I'm happy it's selling for that much, a spawn 1 9.8 newsstand is going for about 1k and this is much rarer even in a 9.6. I still think the price is insane, like all current prices but relative to the current market it seems reasonable.

Actually I just found out it's unknown how many slabbed Spawn 1 newsstands there are. The census, at least cgcs, doesn't differentiate between the two. They do seem to come up a lot more often than the malibu sun 13 though.

There you go, back up the Brinks truck. Spawn was a book I read as a 12-13 year old. I couldn't afford every copy but I pieced together 1-60. I picked up 61-thru 120 when I started collecting again. 175 was always sweeter than 174. Around 2 years ago I priced both and couldn't afford either. for what ever its worth, I'm jealous.

I want to say: "If this is NM, what would VF look like?"

By the way, just speculating (and it looks like I'm not the only one) but I'm guessing in a year or so we will all wish we had picked up a few copies.
