Can't this be said for any restored book graded by any company? Or am I missing something?

Is anyone else having an issue with your Ebay listings disappearing after the 30 day listing period is over? Today I had several listings end, they were not automatically renewed, and they don't even appear in archived or unsold listings (I can't find them anywhere).

@Siggy Yes, but this hot book in that unusually high grade, with the kind of restoration that the average collector can't spot. It's a pretty compelling opportunity for anyone unscrupulous enough to crack and sell raw.

Just checking. I didn't see anything that made this particular slabbed book more of a scam candidate necessarily than other trimmed 9.0's+, other than it's a key (w/lower case 'k').

Here's a different way to handle to handle a CGC screw up, call it a variant and charge more for it!!! That's right folks, a 9.8 CGC COVERLESS comic (with white pages).

EVERYBODY screws up from time to time!!!

His response...

I will not give you negative feedback
Again I prefer to keep the comic and get it fix
just need the $45 refund to fix it

I told him to please just return the book.

If you talk to ebay they will have your back.

Buyers can ask for a partial refund but if they mention feedback they are threatening you which is not allowed by ebay.

@drchaos

The problem was resolved. Ebay found him at fault and after I got the book back, ebay gave me 1/2 of what the book sold for.

I used the money to press and regrade and sent an additional 4 books on his dime to get pressed and graded as well.
=)

@Flanders, @KatKomics, when my buddy shot the pics he was appalled by the grade. He said, "the grader must have found out his wife was cheating the day before", assuming it was a dude of course. I will say check out the very top mid cover, I didn't see that until yesterday.

Look at the back cover above the bottom staple, there is a couple ripples. I would hardy call them ticks and they don't break color of course. Thats my last beef and disclaimer for this book though. Truthfully I don't even think the image pics this up.

On the rare occasion I sell a book on ebay my friend does it for me as I have no feedback period. Do you have to choose allow shipping to Canada? Should I change it and how much extra on the 15 USD would I be charged? I wouldn't mind eating a few bucks.

The option is to enable international shipping. So you open yourself to the world vs just usa.

Personally I only sell to USA because I don't want to deal with added paperwork, currency, customs or other headaches. But I tend to buy from all over. I have a book from UK coming and one from Canada.

@HeinzDad I haven't sold a book to Canada specifically but I have had a couple of international orders. The buyer pays extra on their end and you just ship to eBay's international shipping warehouse in Kentucky. Pretty straightforward.

I’ll leave shipping as it is. I made up my mind I wasn’t going to change anything. From what is normally a buyer prospective I would have been mad at later changes if I was bidding.

If I won that book for under $100 I wouldn't be unhappy about that. But I'm sure it will go higher than that. A 9.8 just went for $1,700 and an unsigned 6.0 went for $153 this month.

That Usagi #1 is a bargain compared to this one:

Should I sell or hold? I received an offer for $200 yesterday, looked up prices and saw that two sold for $400 each on 3-6 so I decided to decline the offer and raise the price. I received an offer for $350 today but am utterly confused. Should I be selling any keys? Is this even a key? Why is this selling for so much? Thanks for the advice.

I also noticed Wolverine Captain America Black Widow "together again" for the "first time" makes no sense. If they're together again it wouldn't be the first time they're together. What is going on here?!?! Does this mean it's the first time since the last time they were together?

@flanders not sure. Going back to the 1990s, it was always a $20 book in NM condition. I think it's one of those Jim Lee covers people like plus I think he became the regular series artist with that issue. Still, $400 is a tidy sum. I have a 9.8 newsstand of it that I could probably milk for $800.

Edit: Uncanny X-Men #251 9.8 sold for $600+. Cool cover but definitely not a key by any means.

It isn't a key per se but a pretty popular Jim Lee cover. If memory serves, they're 'together for the first time' because it's a flashback issue.
