Not quite as egregious, but this listing is not the first appearance of Radior (error in slab label). Key Ring Comics was a group of 16 page newsprint comics pre-punched for a binder. Dell only did five of these in 1941 (I have four of them!)

Best I can tell, nowhere in the listing does it describe this as anything other than the original 1969 book.

Update on this, the seller wasn't doing anything like this in his other listings, so I contacted him. He thanked me and ended the listing. Said he was extremely disappointed to learn that it's a reprint.

I think the price might include the foot on bottom right of the photo.

Anyone ever have a seller ignore an email? My last two messages, to two different sellers have gone unanswered for days now. My purchases have shipped, feedback left for me, but no reply to my emails. These aren't even vital questions. One was asking about how they will package a comic. I forget the other question right now. But besides being rude, they are making it impossible for me to give them 5 stars on communication. These aren't big companies like MCS or Anthony's (both of them usually respond quickly anyway). Ok, thanks for reading my rant.

@Jesse_O maybe they are busy at this time of the year. Or maybe they got the sale and didn't bother to respond. If that's the reason its pretty bad salesmanship. You'll know if they ever respond.

I've posted private messages to forum members here that was hinted that they may have books I'm after from themselves.
Yet never received a reply.
It happens. Way I see it I'll get the books I want from somebody else that would like my money. 👍

Definitely a lot of amateur artistry going on there. Also signed on the back by the artist. I certainly would not pay 5.5 prices for it.

That's where I differ. If I were looking for that Spidey comic, that is the one I'd get. I think stuff like that makes the comic more unique and tells a story. I can imagine some kid in 1966 finding a red ink pen and doodling on Spidey. I know I am in the vast minority though.

I'm with you, as you can tell by the "signature" he was very young and did what kids do, read the book, enjoy the book and practice your signature on the book. I love it.

Check this out. Talk about red flags, the most expensive book offered by this seller is the one book that used CBCS Raw Grade instead of slabbing. You think maybe he was trying to get around the restoration check? I'm a little surprised that CBCS allowed Raw Grade for Golden Age books:

The one thing... the ONLY ONE THING I've asked for in the industry is restoration check. That I struggle with and many others do too unless you have equipment. I don't struggle with grading, but resto - yes.

All this said - Raw Grades I would use all the time, except that I don't because....... drum roll.... no restoration check.

I just don't get it. Why not give the people something of major value?

And now you see potential like this listing for abuse which is "oh I see this this comic has resto so let me send it to the only service that grades but doesn't check resto". There's always scoundrels in any business looking to get over folks with loopholes.

Please CBCS - continue with the raw label option, but do the restoration check.

I imagine there is a cost element to the restoration check that might not work with the pricing of the Raw Grade program. I sent a suggestion to CBCS but I don't think it got past the e-mail opener. I said simply announce that you will not Raw Grade books with visible restoration and won't Raw Grade books worth over $300. Just the announcement alone would close the loop-hole because the scoundrels won't even send them in 90% of the time.

Like you, I am concerned that the Raw Grade program will become the favorite tool of scoundrels and end up with a soiled reputation.

I am using the Raw Grade option for the first time. I submitted 10 Treasury-Sized comics at the RICC on November 3rd. Unfortunately, I haven't received them back yet because of a product shortage. Since I bought all the Treasuries new, I am not concerned with restoration. And due to the size of the books, Raw Grade is the only game in town for them. Hopefully SOON. But I doubt I would use this option for regular-sized comics.

Well it saves a lot more money for pre-1975 books than for post 1975. So I don't use it for moderns or for books worth more than about $150. But when you sell online the books can also ship individually $8 cheaper than a slab. Basically I use for books that I would not otherwise pay to have graded.

@xkonk maybe two accounts for more exposure and the dreaded key word spamming which I hope doesn't turn into another lengthy discussion.

Maybe. I checked the first five items from the account with fewer for sale; they're all also on the account with more items.

The 2 I bought from you were in amazing condition! I can't wait to hear what grades you get back from the ones you sent in...based on the pictures you sent me awhile back I am sure you will get some 9.4's or possibly higher. Please post pics when you get them back.

According to a CBCS staff member, they ran out of Treasury-sized supplies - so I am taking that as the Mylar Bags and the boards/fullbacks. He also said the supplier is still back-ordered for another few weeks. So my Raw Grades have already taken twice as long as slabbed orders submitted on the same date (so much for raw grade being faster). I also submitted 5 normal-sized books for grading/slabbing with the 10 Treasuries, and I can't see those grades or get those back until the full order is completed and shipped.

No big surprise to see that this "sale" has been relisted. I don't really understand what happens in these situations. Do people buy their own books and cancel the sell? I can't imagine any legitimate buyer paid $2,000.

Anyone ever have issues shipping to Singapore? Is their postal system reliable? I have a gentleman from Singapore with 11 feedback and a name change (after becoming an eBay member in Dec 2019) who would like to not use the Global Shipping Program, because he wants multiple books which can't be combined with the GSP from my understanding.

@EbaySeller Even BINs have an expiration date, usually something like a month. If you sort his items by end date you'll see it has about a month to go. eBay can auto-renew it or I guess you can have it set so that you can repost it.
