Here's about 100 nice raw DC books being auctioned by Terry's Comics. Terry is a local dealer I've bought from for years, he also runs the Calcomicon each January here in Southern California. I was at his warehouse yesterday picking up the Captain Marvel Adventures books I showed in another thread. Auction includes Showcase #22 and GL #1 at low starting prices.
https://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEFSXS%3AMESOI&LH_Auction=1&_ssn=terryscomics&_sop=16
My experience is that his grading is reasonable and any restoration is disclosed. I did accidentally buy a color-touched book from him once, but the information was there on the label if I had read it properly. He accepts returns within 30 days.

@EbaySeller I was caught off guard by this since it's usually dreck & goofiness posts. I forgot this thread is also for deals.

@EbaySeller, I have a question about these auctions. I looked at the past feedback and all the buyers feedback have private listings. Can you tell me what that means exactly?

I always check past feedback and what was sold to try and gauge the seller, but all of his listings are private.

@HeinzDad do you know that we have two Caesars? a yummy alcoholic drink and a salad...although a classic Caesar does have a celery stick in it...so maybe also a salad??

I’ve never had a Caesar drink nor was I aware of that one. I will say the last time I was in an LCBO they were giving away sample shots like it was the grocery or something which I thought was funny. Apple Captain Morgan to be exact.

I remember at work a Canadian guy started and asked where are the ketchup chips? I felt bad and searched the internet to find a place to buy them and make him a little less home sick. I don't think he offered to let me try them though.....

He didn’t offer to share because they are pretty good.

I don't know. I do know that Terry doesn't do much of his business on Ebay. He travels to the major cons and puts on his own con.

I have been a mail order dealer since 1976,
I have learned a thing or two about grading in the 44 years.
but I forget that many CBCS board members are not familiar with me ,
my grading or my 100% satisfaction return policy.
until covid-19 destroyed the Comic Convention market,
I was selling 80-90% of my inventory at shows and through the mail order
to well established customers. Terry O'Neill - Terry's Comics, Orange CA

Update on Maya, the ebay "haunted" doll. I used a filter on my tablet that is SUPPOSED to show ghosts or anything living. Well, it picked up a ghost on Maya. The fist picture is without the filter. The next two are screenshots of the video using the filter. It's kind of impressive. It'll take more to convince me, but I'd say this is a good start!!

I suppose the filter is working or your Sony radio would have had something emanating from it as well?

Moderator Jesse_O private msg quote post Address this user
@Bronte yeah, that's what I am thinking. I've seen this filter used in a graveyard. Many headstones would not show anything, but one or two would light up like a Christmas tree. I'm convinced it doesn't just recognize some figures and not others as some people have said.

For instance, on Maya, if you notice, the head doesn't light up. Well, the head is just a plastic head attached to the doll body. Just the body lights up. Like I said, I'm not convinced yet, but I am intrigued.

Have you tried the filter on anything else?

I seem to recall your living in a rehab type place. Has anyone passed recently you could visit their room or something.....

Moderator Jesse_O private msg quote post Address this user
@Bronte no I have not done that ... yet. There are some rooms that the aides and nurses say are haunted. Maybe once we get past the current health crisis, I'll see if I can go on a ghost hunt!!

I was at the grocery store and a young lady ahead of me was buying 12 Ebay gift cards at $100 each. She was paying in $100 bills. It all seemed a little suspicious and she looked very uncomfortable. She was only allowed to buy $500 worth of cards, which surprised me. The checker mentioned a scam that's going on with gift cards. She said this isn't the first time and another customer who made a large Gift Card purchase later confirmed that he had got caught up in some Gift Card scam. Given the situation I thought it might be some type of online blackmail type situation. Anyone heard of Ebay gift card scams going on? I did find this online:

@EbaySeller

I had an email from someone I knew asking for help to get his daughter ebay gift cards. I was suspicious and called the guy. Turns out his email had been hacked.

Thankfully there is no way to justify an ebay card purchase that makes sense. So I didn't fall for it. I strung him along for like 5 emails before I decided it best to just quit and not have myself exposed to a thief any longer....

Is it just me or is the Ebay follow up chasing feeling really desperate? All you have to do is look at an item and you will get updates on it as if you added it to your want list. I looked at a $1,200 comic yesterday and kind of freaked out when I got an email that said "Need to return it? No problem with free returns." Return it? I had no idea I had bought it. And why would Ebay be encouraging me to return something I had purchased? Fortunately I had not bought it, this was just Ebays way of chasing me down the street as I left the store...like a Tijuana shop owner.

@EbaySeller

As a seller its good. It gives you an opportunity you might not otherwise have had. As a buyer, its annoying. When you rejected something once why do I need to reject it again?

@Bronte I guess I should appreciate that every day Ebay sends me a reminder of how closely I'm being monitored when I'm online. The email may say "You showed interest, let us find you more like this one", but what I also hear it say is "If you ever click on a Viagra add they will mark you and stalk you for the rest of your life". lol.

Yeah, once someone i guess as a joke saw my ebay window open and did a search for gay porn. I was emailing ebay how to get rid of their suggestions.....

I forget what the solution was but the lesson is to log out and thank God nobody bought the porn.....
