“Married ages”...perhaps that is a new trend of older couples going in together for some nip-tuck. I can see where slight might be botox or fillers. Right aye?

Just some things I was noticing on eBay.

-Transformers #1 in a 9.8 got stupid expensive. I have one that I got two years ago but not for near what they sell for now.
-GI Joe #26 (origin of Snake Eyes) got kinda outrageous too. First print 9.8s are going for over $700. Snake Eyes movie is still a few months away. I bought a 9.8 CPV of it for $100 in 2017 just because it was the cheapest one available. May be time to sell it.

Wow. This seller is a douche. This is what happened.

This listing started with a 7 day auction.

I bid $5 to see what happens and also keep an eye on it, I was the high bidder expectedly soon to be outbid.

The next day my bid was retracted by seller. Oh Ok.

The auction reached $60 something yesterday.

The listing was canceled and the re listed with a staring bid of $92 and now at $112.50.

I wonder how high it will get before seller lets it end?

I have a question but doesn't deserve it's own thread.

I purchased a "preorder" on a book and the person hasn't shipped it yet. Apparently it still has yet to be graded. I asked if they are fast tracking it because it has already exceeded the estimated ship date by a couple of days. They said they weren't sure.

Does anyone know when the cut off date is to put in a claim? I bought the book via ebay and paypal.

@Bronte - No idea on the claim, but if they were worried about getting it to you on time, they wouldn't have specified Ground for shipping.

Sometimes folks ship different than what they specify. Personally I always ship Priority, but I never specify that in my ebay ads.

The seller was 100% positive feedback so I hope they do the right thing....

Normally ebay is 45 days and paypal 180 days from payment date

lol, did you see that back of that comic book? Maybe BCC is Blind Comic Collector? Interesting that the grading label has a picture of the comic book on the front of the back. That must have taken a little time.

That looks worse than an MCG slab (assuming it's still a thing). He doesn't do it now since I'm sure a lot of his customers laughed in his face, but a local store owner in Cincinnati tried doing his own grading for a while. He would put the comic in hard plastic case, and put some colored label on the side and then shrinkwrap the case. The colors I think were meant to denote a grade. Anyways this guy tried charging $250 for an X-Factor #24. This thing wasn't even close to NM, so I don't know what he was thinking. Mercifully, his experiment didn't last long.

I did a preorder sale once on eBay and it was a pain. There are restrictions on how far out you can push the delivery date. And so the stated date is usually wildly off ... this is not unusual. If the seller is on the ball, they will put a disclaimer of this in the listing, and an estimate of the true delivery date, and if fast tracked, etc. But they don't always do this.

@Tedsaid

The guy said he could fast track on my dime, otherwise he will see if it warrants it. He said he hasn't even gotten the book yet. It was released I think on the 15th.

The guy said paypal would cover me if anything goes awry. I told him I prefer not to deal with PayPal if I dont have to.

I hate this preorder stuff. Unfortunately it seems like a necessary evil with high competition for books lately...

@GAC it takes more time and effort to get these boxes and cut them up than to spend $30 on sturdy cardboard. I should be a dick and report them to the postmaster. I doubt anything would happen from it.

Now now, no Oscar Meyer slapping. But seriously that manilla envelope I mention that I actually received earlier in the month...Well, it had pretty much the same setup inside.
