Sounds like how I landed my 1 book Pence collection. Get it together man.
Ha!!!! I have a 1 book pence collection as well! Great minds think alike, ooorrrr, not so great.

Looks like I'm not alone....

My sole pence book. Was so pissed when it came back as pence initially. Found out it is kinda desired by a few folks on the forum....

For the record, Id rather accidentally buy a pence than get wasted and buy a book. It's pretty rare though, I should get out bid. I can't buy any comics the next 2 days though in case I get stuck with it. Hey, give me another 4 hours and I'll tell you id be happy to have it.

Once you crack a book out of the slab you might as well throw the label away. Best case scenario it tells you what condition the book was at some point. Now you have a raw just like any other.

Very suspicious about this Hulk 181

Seller has zero feedback yet has 'reviews' below.

Playing up the french/english a bit I think - concerned about the "The winning bidder will receive this very slightly replica Incredible Hulk #181 featuring the 1st appearance of Wolverine complete with Marvel Value Stamp! "

Photo's "look' real but the zoom is off so you can't actually read what the first page publishing data is

Hard pass!!!!!

It's also the seller's only listing. I'm leery of things coming out of Montreal. I've read about the fraud rings up there.

@KatKomics He might be French-Canadian. And did join last week. Plus those reviews might be from those who are bidding on it. So I'm going to give him some reason of the doubt. Just not because he might have a castle, or that he might call me an American pig-dog, or the fact he might force me to retreat while he launches copies of Green Lantern from a catapult.

Luckily, no damage inflicted as the bagged and boarded comics were first placed inside two priorty mail overshippers.

What the hell does "slightly replica" mean, anyway? Was there a reprint of this issue back in the 70's?

Maybe he is translating from French or something, and doesn't realize the connotations of that word in English? And he is just trying to say, it is an almost perfect "copy" of this issue?

Funny, if he had said "slightly restored" it would have given the listing all kinds of credibility and allowed people to set aside their fears of a scam (after all, what kind of scammer disclose restoration, right?) Would have been the perfect confidence builder. But instead he says "slightly replica" which takes us 180 degrees in the other direction, if we didn't think it was a scam just from the zero feedback, we sure do from the "slightly replica".

Slightly replica sounds like a real Rolex but with a fake dial.

Well, after thinking it over, I think "very slightly replica" is meant to convey it's real, just done poorly (lost in translation). It is a real copy in the images, as far as I can tell. I still wouldn't trust the listing in the slightest, due to the zero feedback / new seller status.

If it is real, he is selling his valuable book in the most foolish way possible.

“Married ages”...perhaps that is a new trend of older couples going in together for some nip-tuck. I can see where slight might be botox or fillers. Right aye?

Just some things I was noticing on eBay.

-Transformers #1 in a 9.8 got stupid expensive. I have one that I got two years ago but not for near what they sell for now.
-GI Joe #26 (origin of Snake Eyes) got kinda outrageous too. First print 9.8s are going for over $700. Snake Eyes movie is still a few months away. I bought a 9.8 CPV of it for $100 in 2017 just because it was the cheapest one available. May be time to sell it.

Wow. This seller is a douche. This is what happened.

This listing started with a 7 day auction.

I bid $5 to see what happens and also keep an eye on it, I was the high bidder expectedly soon to be outbid.

The next day my bid was retracted by seller. Oh Ok.

The auction reached $60 something yesterday.

The listing was canceled and the re listed with a staring bid of $92 and now at $112.50.

I wonder how high it will get before seller lets it end?

I have a question but doesn't deserve it's own thread.

I purchased a "preorder" on a book and the person hasn't shipped it yet. Apparently it still has yet to be graded. I asked if they are fast tracking it because it has already exceeded the estimated ship date by a couple of days. They said they weren't sure.

Does anyone know when the cut off date is to put in a claim? I bought the book via ebay and paypal.
